As some of you guys know I do not go to a lot of events. Why you ask? Well because to me they seem to far away. So am I the weird one or what? lol
Especially since its like 4 bucks a gallon for me and I get 20mpg hwy 17mpg city.

How far is to far for an event to go to like a car show, or car event?

Just doing this poll because Im curious. I would like to be more active with this forum/club but all the event IMO are too far away

When we lived in Sarasota I drove a couple hour's to the Wiregrass show's. If it's something you wanna' do and enjoy, no distance is too far.

Hey I go to most of them because I really dont have much going on during the summer, just waiting for school to start back up, might as well take a trip down and hang out for the day. But tampa is about as far as Ill go, about 100 miles.

Tee and I try to limit to around 100 miles; ONE reason IS we take TWO cars everytime; HOWEVER we are going to the Georgia Shindig again this year. It's too much FUN to pass up. This year we will only take ONE car as we may just stay down there after the show and head for Florida ~ NOT positive yet though.

Generally we do up to Tampa [about 2 hrs] or across to the SE coast, also about 2 hrs. Those are usually our furthest, but we tend to only do those if it's a charity show.

Also depends on what's nearby, the youngster tends to get bored, so if there is a park,play area, or stores nearby to walk to we're much more likely to go.

I'm gonna say 121+ is a bit too far...however, if I had vacation from work and the wife and I had the money to make it a "get away" type deal, then I'd be more than happy to do so....

Ive done shows in Slocala and south of Sarasota....

If its with good people the distance can be overlooked...

And Every show I go to i some how manage to get both of my vehicles out there so thats double gas...

80 to 100 is about my limit. I have never liked road trips myself so I dont travel real far.....On my motorcycle though......I plan to take 3 weeks off of work in a few years and just ride the country, no map or destination.

I LOVE road trips...LOL...it's just hard to go too far away and having to leave the kids with my mom or mother in law.

I will add this though...now that Ruby is fixed up and I can trust her to carry me further, as long as the wife has no qualms with it, I hope to make it to shows that are further south, east, west and north.

I have to agree. When the show is for charity, distance is not a major concern. I work every other weekend, so I have to plan which shows I go to. I like doing the shows cause it is great to be with friends and it beats sitting at home.
