It's not about going fast... It's about stress on certain part's.
I'm stepping out of this for the main reason you called me son.
Good luck on your truck and welcome to SEMopar's.

Jay is right, like I said earlier in the thread it needs to be built right. We have a tire size/gear ratio chart stickied in the forum here, that will tell you an idea of where you want to be gear wise when running a certain size tire. Plus, with the proper tune on these computer controlled trucks, you can minimize the MPG loss as much as possible.

Hell for some $$$ a dealer can do it...they can reprogram the truck the match the tire/gear ratio so that it applied the proper fuel/air mixture, timing, transmission shift points etc..not to mention the speedmoeter calibration for the new tires, etc...

pretty sure i have 3.55 gears in my rear end... so, according to the chart, without changing my gears, the biggest i should go is 32s or 31s without sacrificing anything? or am i reading that wrong?

Your best overall performance with the 3.55 gears, according to the chart will come from a 28 inch tire...I would rather have better over all performance than strictly fuel economy.

Time for me to chime in...lol
I am running almost 11 inches of lift on my 2WD with 3.92s and no tune...yet.
My mpg is right around 8.5-9.0. My tires are 40x16.5.20's.
You do a lift, and throw big meat under there, you shouldnt be concerned with MPGs...cause thats all out the window...lol
Also, I dont know if you have mentioned, but what motor are you running?
