Default Ruby might be going under the knife soon
Well, as some of you know, I have been having sporatic transmission problems...not enough that it scares me to drive Ruby, but they are sporatic. So after getting a bunch of quotes and reading reviews, if all goes well, Ruby will be having a rebuilt trans put into her. Within the next 2 weeks.

She will be making the trip to Leesburg to a trans shop there, who will install a lifetime warranteed 46re and go ahead and install new freeze plugs in the back of my block for $950 out the door.

This guy buy far beats anyones quotes thus far...one shop in Tampa "Performance Transmissions" quoted me $2100 just for the trans rebuild and a lifetime warranty...another place in New Port Richey quoted me $1200...

I will let you all know how it all goes, as I promised the guy I would spread the word about his business if all goes well.

That is a wide spread in quotes. You sure you are comparing apples with apples?

Well, the guy who quoted me $2100 does mostly classic restorations and does a little more to the trans than some shops do which would be nice, if I could afford it...

I am finding more shops that are right inline with the one I will be using and are within $100 or so $$$. One shop in New Port Richey quoted me right at $1000, however they come with a list of bad reviews, that scares me. The one shop in Leesburg, I haven seen or heard of a bad review yet, are BBB members, are a AAA certified repair shop.

Way to search out the best deal and best place to have the service done. I know you will be like and expectant father waiting for Ruby to come home. All the best in the upcoming procedure.
