Our Saturday night cruise in

For many years there was a Saturday night cruise in down south of me in Pinellas Park at a Burger King back in the early 90s it was not odd to have 175-200 vehicles show up it was one of the biggest ones in the area. As time went by the DJ [also the organizer of the thing] fell ill and eventually passed away leaving the job to his son whom wasn't really interested in doing it [he did look for another DJ] but as fate would have it the state built an overpass at that intersection of US 19 and that Burger King was closed about 2007. Fast forward to 2011 a friend [car nut] of mine wanted to start another cruise in on Saturday nights so we picked a Burger King located in a central area between Tarpon springs and Clearwater so it would be fair to everyone, for over a year we sat there [him,Jerry and I] waiting for some participation to no avail [even with filers] most we ever had was 6 cars. So we pulled up stakes and moved to a different Burger King for about a year with the same results [and this location closed for a remodel] so my friend went to the local Steak n Shake and they welcomed us with open arms the beginning of last year and there are those nights we have only 3-4 cars and other nights like this we had 12-14 [our best night was 16 cars] it'll never be the same as the old days but it's still good times.
