NO, we used to blend oils for Mobil, Castrol, Valvoline and Quaker State...but they all but resolved any contract packaging agreements they all had with other companies to better control quality.
However, we still use their additives. We also use, Shell/Pennzoil additives, Exxon and Lubrizol.
That's where the $$$ is spent in the oil business...there arent very many additive producing companies in North America, so when a company like Lubrizol has down time, nearly every oil company suffers...when additive companies raise additive costs, every oil company raises their costs...
We also blend Shell Rotella for SOPUS

No sir and as far as I know it has never been. It is a SOPUS product (Shell Oil/Pennzoil United States)...I would truely consider it their "money maker"

The oil we give to our raceteam to use is like a 0W70...pushing nearly 8,000 horsepower.

Oh and Mike, WalMart stocks the Mobil 1 0W40 bud $6.47 per quart is the online price versus Advance Auto Parts price of $8.99 per quart...
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-0W-40-1qt/17034373
Buying it from WalMart at their $6.47 per quart price could save you nearly $25 per oil change before tax and oil filter.

I did a little bit better than that today
2 5qt jugs Mobil 1 0w40 and used a paper $20 off $50 coupon that came in the mail.
That brought the total to $59.90 including tax
I also recycled a used battery for $5 gift card so my out the door price $54.90
I think that's pretty good...
I tried to order online and use a coupon but guess they don't allow that anymore on oil...but for anything else order online and do pickup in store and save big $$$
