Your exactly right but the gtr is only about how much more than a gt 500? Somehow i fail to see a comparison we are talking about somewhat affordable muscle cars here i thought.Nick is right base gt with 10-12k invested and your in the 9s and still come out cheeper than a gt500,srt8 challenger, vette, viper.

You can pick up 2 year old GT-r's all day for $60k. Also your 9sec GTs are only good in a straight line. What about curves? You wouldn't want to drive your 9sec GT on a cross country road trip like you could a GT-r. The GT-r is just the complete package. I personally don't see the appeal of going fast in a straight line. Hell you can make any car quick in a straight line. I like cars that can take a turn at a decent speed

I agree the gtr is my sons and my favorite import speed/hp demon but we are talking american muscle. Going straight is very kool, but road courses are exciting and demand concentration my son likes that type of driving, when he had his 240sx thats the type of roads he looked for hammerdown and drive.

Its really all just abunch of talk until they really put it to the test. I'd like to see that mustang vs a supercharged 392 and a supercharged 6.2 camaro. Then we will see who really wins...

Dude no offense but the challengers are heavy and a 5.0 can easily beat one

We are talking about factory cars off the showroom floor not heavly built cars with a ton of aftermarket parts, you may be right a challenger may beat a stang after you throw a supercharger on it and a good tune ect. There is a guy here that has an 06-07 srt8 challenger close to 900 hp at the wheels does 8.75 quarters, twin turbocharged monster but it cost him he has well over 150,000.00 in it [includes purchase price] so i suppose it can be done, speeds only a question of money how fast do you want to go?

I'd be willing to bet Chevrolet does a little tweaking to the ZL1 before it comes out now
