I've got a little notebook I keep in my ashtray that I write down the date, total gallons and price per gallon each time I put gas in her. I've got a file on my laptop that I keep pictures of every thing I've bought as well as before and after pics. And all the paper receipts go in a folder in a lock box

It is definitely a good idea to keep track of everything. Especially since a lot of us get parts with a lifetime warranty and having the receipt or a log of it will help in getting easier replacement. Also like Adam just having his tranny done he can keep an eye on when the warranty will expire, so he can make sure he has any work needed done before it runs out.

Storytime: Had a lifetime warranty on an exhaust system that a shop put on another truck I had. The business was sold and I took the truck back to them 8 years later. Got the song and dance, yada yada yada. Dug out the old moldy reciept and wala, got a new set of pipes put on the truck. Keep those reciepts....

I don't because I plan on keeping this truck forever lol and I mean that. Doesn't cost me that much to drive this thing. And since I take care of it, it takes care of me But I would consider this as a good idea mainly for insurance reasons and for if you were to sell it the buyer would feel confident in what they were buying.

No doubt I'll keep Red until one of us gets tow'd. First, no one would ever give me half of what I have in her and two, no one could start her or fix anything on her without the book. I have trouble remembering even the simple stuff like, what resistance do I have in my pwr wire or what is the spark plug number, not even counting where in the wiring harness did I splice this or that. Ahh but the book knows.
