So basically you can put them anywhere a light goes except for the instrument cluster of course

yes and no, i drilled and wired mine up to go in a few key places, the air vents, the dome lights, cup holders, ect, all in on separate switch

you'll need to solder the resistors to the leds.
i also soldered the wires to led / resistor combo
for you 1.75 to cover the shipping
