Daniel, just jump in there and get it done. I've had my truck tore down for three days and it's killing me.

Hey greg and jay did you guys remove your overload spring? I am wondering if that is easy enough to do at the same time tomorrow.

When I removed the o/l on my 05 it was a pain in the ass. I would just go with the drop shackles and leave the o/l leaf on. If you take it off the back will be a little lower than the front and you won't be able to haul very much weight.

i did it all in like an hr and half, my front is no where near higher in the front, i think my rear is sstill a half inch higher, i haul stuff and as long as its a normal load its fine....
heres what i have D....
directions to change drop shackles....
with your truck elevated on jack stands, place hydraulic jack under the rear axle and raise it until the weight is removed from the leaf spring. loosen and remove shackle bolts, and remove the stock shackle. install your new lowering shackle, tighten bolts, donot over tighten(this will cause squeaks and binding) remove the jack and jack stands your. ready to go!!!
and while you have the leafs loose just undo all the axle bolts(4) and drop the axle down(or lift truck up) and disassemble leaf pack, one bolt. and then remove the bottom spring it has a pin in it also, i used a flat bar and pried it off. reassemble the leafs with the bolt and put axle back together with 4 u-bolts and tighten everything down then attach drop shackles to truck and remove all jacks and stands....
