my friend max just said "dont be a puss, go with a real suspension lift".. with that being said, will that screw up my truck?

It's all sprung weight big dog. You're adding more weight, more body roll, less turning radius, lower MPG, and obviously you're going with bigger tire's, so, it's more stress on your driveline to get it moving.
