Default My Nephew's Poor Car
Well, this weather has claimed a vehicle that hits home for me. The pic below is my nephew's (he turned 18 earlier this month) mustang as of yesterday.

And this is my nephew's mustang as of 11AM this morning.

Can you see it? Of course not, it's underwater, completely submerged, somewhere in the area of the red circle.

He and his cousin were in Brooksville yesterday/last night visiting my nephew's girlfriend. His mom (my sister) texted and called him last night to tell him to stay there because the storm was kicking back up. His phone was in his car so he didn't get the message and he and his cousin left. About 2 or 3 miles down the road they ran into water (in pic). He tried to do a u-turn to go back but his car stalled, but continued to roll. Water started filling the car pretty fast. The electric windows wouldn't roll down and the electric locks wouldn't unlock (I don't remember if anyone remembers ford door locks in the mid-90's but there was nothing to grab ahold of to manually unlock). He finally busted a window so he and my cousin could get out...apparently water was about waist deep (while sitting) in the car. They walked the 2-3 miles back and called his mom/my sis. She called AAA who showed up about 130AM this morning but the car was completely submerged by then, which is how is still sits as of now...it's a total loss.

I'm glad he and his cousin are OK, thank god they stayed calm enough to think straight and bust the window. But it really sucks because it was his first car...and we all know first cars are very special. He says he will drive a truck from this point forward.

EDIT: This reads as if he got the car yesterday, and that maybe it was his 18th birthday gift. Neither is correct, he's had the car awhile. I was implying that his car was "normal" yesterday.
