The Wrangler guys don't normally like any Jeep that isn't a Wrangler. I run into that all the time with my Liberty. I have been told "Why don't you get a REAL Jeep". Not all of them mind you. Just a lot of them.
I own a Liberty because I wanted a Jeep. What I didn't want is to be like 90% of the Jeeps out on the trails....the Wranglers.
I agree with the thoughts about it looking like everything else. That is true with most vehicles today. From a distance you can not tell if a car is a Cadillac, a Lincoln or some Japanese import. There just doesn't seem to be a design identity any longer.
