Default That was an ordeal!
So I have the Droid X, and I have been having problems of the phone rebooting multiple times during the day. I have replaced the phone 3 times... 3 different phones and they ALL did the same thing. Software malfunction? I don't know but I decided I didn't want this stupid phone anymore. So I called Motorola to begin with. I told them the deal and specifically said I want to upgrade to the X2 free of charge because of the money I already spent and the trouble I've been through. All they said was that they would "repair" it if I sent it into them. If I did that, I would be without a phone for 2 weeks. I told them no I want a new phone and they wouldn't listen. So I told all 4 of the people what I thought of them and hung up. Next I called Verizon, told them the issue and that I wanted a new phone. Talked to probably 5 different people and they all told me sorry you can pay $200 for the X2 but we're not giving it to you. I also told them what I thought of them and transferred over to the people to cancel our contract. I told the lady what was going on and that they better cancel our contract for free or it's not gonna be good. I also told her about the phone I wanted. She put me on hold for a minute, came back and said ok you will have a Droid X2 on your doorstep by Friday free of charge. Sorry for any trouble caused. I told her thank you and congrats cause you just saved your company alot of bussiness. So all in all, I spent about 3 hours on the phone and got a X2 heading my way Seems like presistance pays off!

Good for you. I put my stateside phone on suspension when I go overseas and last year I get a bill where they activated my phone while I was still overseas and I told them that the phone was on suspension and I couldn't use it while still out of the country, Nobody wanted to listen until I told them That since I had them on line to just cancel the service. All of a sudden it wasn't a problem and my service could be put back on suspension until I returned. assholes...

Yep...know what you guys mean. I am a Verizon retiree (26 years) and still have/had to put up with the BS. I just picked up my 1st smartphone several weeks ago. Got the Incredible 2. So far, so good.

Actually, it's a shame that these companies train their employees to push, push, push, or say no, no, no to the American public, their paying customers. I've always been amazed that with companies (especially cell phone companies) that a new customer can get a better deal than a loyal, renewing customer...just doesn't make sense to me.

Colton, way to stay at 'em until you were satisfied.

Dude I feel the same way, that always pissed me off when I heard a new deal for direct-tv, and one day I get something in the mail that says, thank you for being a loyal customer, here is NFL Sunday Ticket and HBO Package free for 6 months! That shit was awesome, and I canceled it no problem after the 6 months was over. I wish other companies would call up and give me free shit for being a good customer, but they dont.

When we were with Dish Network, I would always hassle their Customer Retention Department, threaten to go to cable or DirecTV and they would give us free months and stuff.
