I know I been pretty absent lately, hell I'm not even on that "other" forum I run near as much as I used to be.
But I've had a LOT going on. Need surgery and my stupid insurance that I pay out the A$$ for every month won't pay a dime for it because my ailment was pre-existing, albeit in a VERY minor form than what it is now. So anywho, the doctor said it would be more complicated (and more expensive) with my weight at 325 lbs. He told me that if I could get my weight at least down into the 240s, it would go easier AND possibly not require more than a day or two stay in the hospital as opposed to the week he said I'd need to be in at over 300 lbs. Out of pocket cost for the surgery would be reduced from about $25,000 to maybe as low as $8000-10,000.
So starting March 25, I set out to lose 80 lbs. As of last Friday I have lost 70 lbs., and still, at 255 lbs. I have a gut, so I've amended my goal to be 100 lbs. lighter, so I have 30 lbs. to go.
Been trying to stay active along with eating right, as much as my ailment will allow and have been playing golf a lot and fishing more.
Matter of fact, I've discovered I like surf fishing and bought a cheap little chinese made "Hitch-Haul" clone and did a little welding and fab'ing of it to make a nice deal for surf fishing:
Basically welded a couple of cut pieces of 1" sqaure uprights to support rod holders, installed a set of 55w lights (since my light bar comes off when this goes on), and installed a marine grade 12v power outlet for aerators or anything else needs power. A manual cut-off switch allows me to turn off the lights and still have power to the outlet.
Obviously this will work on the back and the back of the truck as well. Nice thing about this deal is it's rated for 500 lbs. so it will go on the back of the truck for deer season up in Georgia. It'll be nice not to have to try to get a deer all the way up into the bed of the truck...
