anyway, was about to order my leveling kit for my 03 2wd... cant find one that doesnt require longer shocks!!!  most everything i found is for a 4wd...
anyway, might just end up doing a body lift... 
so, will a body lift mess up my mpg or my ride anyway??

I couldn't see the ride being any worse off than it is... A body lift is still sprung weight (above the axle). MPG's shoot down when the tire's get bigger with the lift. That is un-sprung weight and that's what really affect's your MPG's. Not including being rougher on the driveline and making the engine work harder along with axles.
But what do I know about lift's... All my vehicle's tend to sit on the ground. Lol

1. Why lift a 2WD?
2. Ever thought about 2/4 drop or a 4/6 drop?

i just dont like lowered trucks.. not my thing.. the ONLY truck i ever thought looked good dropped a little was an SS silverado..
a buddy of mine had a dropped ferd and scrapes when coming up our boat launch.

the body kit wont affect mileage, since the suspension geometry doesnt change at all. It might affect corner handling with the added height, but thats gonna happen regardless. As for ride quality in general, it might actually help it with a good quality kit.

when properly done a lifted 2wd can go almost anywhere a 4wd will go....

It maybe able to go anywere the 4wd can, but when the shit (mudd) get's thick, they don't have the advantage a 4wd does.
Personally, I never seen a reason in lifting a 2wd. To me, lifting a truck mean's you're gonna' use that lift-age to your advantage when rock crawling, mudding, trail hopping, thing's of that nature.
