i ordered a new black led taillight and got my alpine type-r subs. i am actively hunting an alpine pdx-1.1000 mono amp to push them, my system will almost be complete. i already have my type-r components in the front doors and type-r coaxils in the rear doors being pushed by the alpine pdx-4.100. that alone hangs with my tahoes bose system. i jonesin to get my subs in, then a new double din HU and ill be in alpine heaven.

For sure, all good choices, the only downside to me with alpine they arent exactly the cheapest brand out there but then again with them you are paying for quality, like everyone always says, "you get what you pay for" and the quality is deffinitely there with them but when it comes to subwoofers I cant help but prefer the RE brand, I have seen and heard many and all I can say about them is wow!

RE subs get down, no doubt about that...Alpine type-r also get down, along with TREO, but it all depends what some one prefers...

Yea thats true, its all about preference, and also how much your wallets can allow, cause with the right setup and know how you can blow the windows out of your ride with any brand sub (well any of the higher end ones that handle more power)

ill never buy a sub that isnt JL audio. They are my favorite so far and ive had quite a few different ones

and I got my first Clarion with this in dash DVD. Horrible customer service and the screen has went out twice. They wont cover it under warranty even though I paid $700 for it

I don't know much about stereo systems... wish I did. We had Tee's DEMON car there this week as her amp was cutting out; they found a pinched wire on the remote wire and she had two new 3 way door speakers installed. While we were there we took two of our amps that we had in other cars and kept them when we sold the cars and wanted to make sure they worked. Tee's is a "cheater" modifed amp and they said it was a good one and works fine. Mine is a JL Audio 500/1 and when he checked this one out, said it's perfect; HOWEVER we should NOT use this with any of our current speakers ~ His opinion too powerful for what we have. We only have aftermarket equipment in ONE Magnum and that's Tee's DEMON ~ the SXT. We might get something installed in TWO of our R/Ts..... Maybe???

i have see an few flat black rams. a guy named twink and a guy named daniel both did their rams. really sexy but i agree with kev wrap it. it would probably cost the same and if you every got tired of it or tried to sell it you could pull it all off. that stuff is tough too.

Well my truck was already repainted by me because the factory paint went to crap on me, and since I was sold the wrong clear and did it in my backyard and in humid weather and rained (luckily I had the truck under a roof) poor lighting because put up some tarps for the overspray I kind of have to re-clear the truck regardless cause I have a few dry spots around and some orange peel, so that being the case is where my thinking for the flat black came in, I could just give it the flat clear coat after sanding and that should do it. But I will look into the wrap for sure, regardless for now, I lost my job and have no money so that wont happen for a bit. lol

been there bud, its sucks all of ass. its like walking down the street and seeing all of your friends at a party you werent invited to. things will pick up just keep a positive attitude about everything. being negative will not help and will actaully make things worse. i dont usually reccomend books but there was one i read a few years back called the power of positivity that i really liked.

Yea thats true, whenever bad happens I try to see the good to it, no job means I can focus better and have more time for school and also have more time to spend with my girlfriend as well. I'll check that book out I have some time to read now as well lol

Good to see you keeping the black theme going. Since the last time I was around I have blacked the lugs out and even the license plate. Going to go darker with my tails when the weather gets better. The truck is almost invisible at night when it is parked on the street :)

hey jay and teach what did you guys use to tint your tails and was there enough to do the tails and 3rd brake light?

It is sheet vinyl tint from eBay. It is enough to do all three tails. It works good but I am peeling mine soon to go darker. Going to try VHT this time.

well the first time I blacked out my tails I used that VHT nightshades and I hated it, came out dark and did shine light through perfectly but left it in a flat black which I didnt want, I ended up using clear over it and couldnt get it how i wanted, The second thing I tried was some black paint and clear that came ina small spray can and I will say it came out nice but faded off quickly. The best thing I have used and the method I used for my tails and headlights as well was a light sanding and got some clear coat mixed in some black paint into it to the darkness I wanted and like that I got the perfect translucent paint with the shine I wanted, best strategy I have used and was recomended to me at a auto paint supply shop

Well heres a couple pictures of when I sprayed them and them on the truck, and one more recent picture i have of the headlights blacked out on the truck as well, i think the black mixed in the clear has been the best thing I have used and probably the easiest as well

Metro decals get a sheet for like 25 bucks it's plenty And it's great I even wax mine, stays shiney and nice, easy to apply and all

It's pretty easy to apply too. This was my first attempt at using vinyl tint and it wasn't all that difficult.

Maybe some carbon fiber strips put on as the dodge slashes would look good. I have thought about a R/T style hood panel and something along the lines of the old Z28 hood strips that went back onto the tonneau cover then dropped off the sides like a Bumble Bee strip.All in flat black or titaninum.

The Rat is very cool, 27' ford body with a 31' radiator with old school drop axle w/hydraulic brake upgrade. Probably 48's. Only considered a upgrade as the originals were mechanicals. The Lotus runs a Camry V6 engine with a 6 speed manual trans. Toyota never used a 6 spd manual, so my thought is what would happen if someone transplanted the manual from the Lotus into a Camry. Now we are talking a sleeper. Also little known model Camry was a 89'-91' AWD. Believe they came with either SC four cylinder or V6. Very cool sleepers.
