Never got into dirt all asphalt. Only one dirt track close to me and have never been there we raced at our local track only with the mini stocks.

Look who all has won the Sprint Cup Championship since 2004....Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson...where did they cut their teeth? Stewart is a die hard dirt racer and Johnson raced off road...a driver who was brought up driving on dirt learns a higher level of car control in my opinion than someone who races only asphalt. Earnhardt Jr is a prime example...had he been brought up to drive on dirt, I believe he would be 10x the driver he is now.

Yeah anybody can turn left on asphalt. I live about 20 mins from Ocala speedway, florida's oldest working dirttrack. I'm also about 45 mins to volusia speedway. We go watch the WoO there and its just amazing.
