Getting tired of my Craftsman breaking, can't afford to replace them with anything big name like Snap-On. I've tried Husky, Craftsman, Kobalt.. Gonna give the local TSC a try with Masterhand, they have all the basic tools plus the non-normal ones as well. Tonight I went all over town looking for a 1-1/16 socket, finally found it at TSC. Just noticed some of there tools advertise lifetime warranty as well!

What is your favorite brand of tools?

Craftsman and Husky....since like Kevin said, you can go to Sears or Kmart to swap a Craftsman tool or The Home Depot to swap a Husky tool...

Cuda, I have broken 3 of the 3/8 ratchets in the past year. My problem is my closest Sears with tools is an hour away.

Did not know Home Depot would replace broken Husky's. Gonna have to take a trip this afternoon.

I am going to buy a few Masterhand at the end of the month and see how they feel.

I like the craftsman tools, but I also like Kobalt tools. They have a lifetime warranty on them also. You can find them in any Lowe's.

RamStrat, your Kmart will exchange tools? I missed that part of the post. Last time I tried to exchange mine there they told me to go to Sears.

Yup! It depends on the Kmart and what type of tool section they have. The one I used to work at had a huge tool section

I'll go up there and ask again to see if it's changed. Last time I tried it was right when they started carrying the tools. Just bought a Masterhand Torque Wrench.. Hoping it works alright, $40.

Your using too long of a pipe on that ratchet use a breaker bar with that pipe ratchets ain't strong enough internally for that kind of torque LOL.

The first one I broke, I used a hammer, the second one I broke was a 2' breaker only gave me another 6 inches or so. I broke it loose with a 6' breaker and a pipe wrench. Took me all day to break one dang NUT lol. Oh the pipe is pieces of my old exhaust.

I decided, when income tax comes in, I am ordering some new tools and possibly a welder.

I ussualy go with craftsman. because of the warranty. 2nd would be Kobalt (well I work for Lowes soooo) They have life time warrantis, but I think most tools now adays have a lifetime warranty. The first 2 years Kobalt wassold by Lowes they were made by Snap-on. but to cut cost they went to another supplier I'm not exactly sure who though.

I got it all now, I hope. Waiting for a another tool to come in Wednesday. Working on the four-wheeler. Trying to put in a secondary clutch spring. The primary came loose fairly easy but the secondary was a beach. Waiting for the Primary Puller to come in to pop it out. Impact is recommended for it as well. :shooter:

Here's my shopping list for tax money lol.
Air Compressor
Impact
Welder

Anything else yall would recommend? Id like to get a programmer for the NR but I need tools more.

Gonna try to find one on Craigslist. Wanting a 5 CFM but not sure about the cost. I used to use compressors for 8 hours a day, so I do know the difference between this and that. Just gonna get a cheap welder so I can re-do my exhaust and make a bumper for the ATV.

Whatever you do avoid the Campell Hausfeld welders...my father in law had a 110v wire feel welder and the wire feed motor didnt last a month...I have heard that the Northern Tool cheapo wire welders are better quality at around the same price...

Thanks everyone. Also looking for a new tool set, ratchets, sockets, etc. Most of mine have been misplaced/stolen.

For the welder I am just getting a cheaaaap Chicago Electric. I have read and read about them over the last two months. More positives than negatives. I don't need it for anything thick. Not too concerned with splatter, I can clean it up.

I might call up my old shop teacher and see if he has any compressors he'd sell me.

IF I ever get a welder I am gonna go all out and get a Miller...thats what I use to stick weld with at my last job....repairing shopping carts...that one however was gas powered...
