Since one of the first mods most people do to their trucks is exhaust, I figured we needed a thread where we can discuss what we run. Pics and vids are encouraged. I run stock manifolds and cat, to a si/do cherry bomb extreme with dual 2-1/2" angled at the back corners, with plasti dipped 4" tips. It sounds pretty good, not too loud in the cab. It does drone a little on the interstate though. Heres a little vid.

Any of the truck guys tried DMH electric cutouts? I have 'em on my Magnum R/T.

I put a flowmaster with single in and double out to give it that dual look. Has 3" tips. I went from the dealer to the muffler shop and had it done 10 years ago. Still sounds stout.

I plan on using a e-cutout on my truck when I replace the factory y-pipe with a magnaflow y and new muffler as my rustmaster is only 2 hrs old and rusting and it sees no salt water and no mud so I think it's just poor metal for a muffler, so I'll be going with a diff brand. But yes Jim alot of guys run cutouts on on there trucks specially the ones that want mean and aggressive but quiet with family n friends in the vehicle...

My flowmaster rusted horribly as well. As soon as we cut it off it hit the ground and a giant plume of rusty dust filled the air. I went with a Magnaflow hi-flo cat and an 18" Magnaflow si/do muffler, she sounds great, and Magnaflow has a lifetime warranty. Sells itself.

I can't say enough good things about the quality of my DMH cut out. Will definitely be putting a set on my 3rd gen soon.

I have a single Borla on my '86. 2 1/2" from the manifold back. I'll post a video when I get back

I have true duel Magnaflow on my '98 and it sound's mean. Has a really low growl but the motor isn't stock.

Here is my last Mustang, been a year FORD free, lol. This was a 357w, high port's, long tube's 3" stainless to 3" Borla XR muff's. Sound's like a Tugboat!!

Heres when i first cut the cat out, straight pipe into a turn down. I went right to advance for the thrush muffler after i cut it off. lol.

Heres after the thrush, exhaust ending immediately after the muffler.

i plan on re doing the whole exhaust to lt headers magnaflow cats and y or stock cats cut to 3" which ever is cheaper and a e cut out and then to stock muffler and resonator dumped. i want my truck to be really quiet when the wife and kids are present and all hell to break lose when im alone.

Y pipe's suck. If I ran a y pipe it would be 3" or bigger.

I will be ordering my Cherry Bomb Extreme here in the next two weeks. Just gotta shop around locally and see about getting the pipes done and installed for it.
