The 03 CTDs didn't have a cat from the factory. So all I did was cut out the muffler and put a pipe in its place and also welded on a tip, It all stock except for the 4 inch pipe were the muffler would be. I am never going to change it unless the exhaust starts to rust out. lol

I have 3 large orders to prepare and pack up/ship by the 22 i asked the plant manager for help he said i could stay as late as i needed just lock the gate when i leave and call him to turn on the alarm in the same breath he says he doesn't like me there by my self W.T.F? I have to do this besides my normal daily work i do. I work at a trailer manufacturer and the parts i have to pull are scattered over 3.7 acres plus i have to package over 3500 individual parts by machine[6 or 12 at a time] i have recruted 1 other guy for the past 2 days. My bitch is this happens every time for the past eight years and the orders are late every time and the customer is always pissed you would think that some one in management would do something but dah nooooooo. The day they holler at me for it not going is the day i tell them G.F.Y.S. I'm done.

So, I pull into the Citgo station today to buy some gas. I pull up to the pump, get out of the truck and up walks a lady, asking if I would give her a jump. Obviously, being the kind hearted chap I was raised to be, I oblige her. So, I get my gas and pull the Ram over to her Silverado...I jump it off and she's back up and running again...she then askes me, why do I think her battery died. I tell her it was because her positive cable was loose as a goose on the side post. So, I tighten it up for her...next she asks if I would check her oil...I do so...then she asks why her truck lopes like it does...I tell her since it sounds like it does it with the A/C clutch, it is probably something to do with her compressor...

Just thought I would share that...she obviously needs a man in her life...since Kevin is the first unmarried dude I thought of while talking to her, I gave her Kevins number....

I used to be in the service dept. where i work we fixed trailers and set up the trailer to fit the boat.This guy brought in his 29 foot boat and trailer because the dealer just put the boat on the trailer without adjusting it so he bitched and they said take it to the manufacturer,i worked on that thing most of the day had to just about remake all the toppings to get this thing to fit [while he watched me like a hawk and told me how to do my job i f---n hate that] when i was done he said thanks and said here i got something for you i'm thinking cool a tip he gives me two ink pens with his companys logos on them,WTF it took everything i have to not stab him in both eyes with them.My boss asked me if i got a tip i said yep and showed him he said WTF and laughed.I got better tips from poor guys like me than guys that have money,lifes not fair.

Sure does...the muffler alone retails for $60, I was gonna order it from Summitt and bring it to him to install and have him run my pipes, but for $200 he will do it all and he stocks the Extreme at his shop.

Straight pipes on a gas engine are janky...LOL....speaking of Janky...I had a friend who was too much of a tight wad to spend the money on actual exhaust pipe...so he went down to a home improvement store and bought fence pipe and pit it on his Delta 88...damn near poisoned himself from the galvinizaton....

However, I do like how 03Rammers's straight piped cummins sounds.

The tone is only changed when the vehicle is Y piped. A single cutout into a Y pipe will be louder at an idle than a true dual straigh pipe.

I like the race bullets myself. After I put my extreme on I found out about the bullets. I havent heard any 5.2's with em but whenever I get some headers and redo my exhaust thats what Im using. There pretty cheap too.

Some people make me laugh...on another forum, there is a member on there telling a poster who has a 2005 Dak that the most important thing to an engine oil for his truck is to have a high ZDDP content...I hope the original poster does not take his advise.

back in the day the ZDDP in engine oils were blended in high concentration...in racing oils like Valvoline VR-1 it can be like 15% ZDDP. The ZDDP made a film on the internals as a wear additive to protect metal on metal contact. This was especially important on older push rod flat tappet cammed engines. However, when the EPA mandated CATS on engines, they found that the ZDDP would actually damage them as it's emissions passed through them. So, the EPA forced oil manufacturers to lower or eliminate it from their oils. If we were talking diesel engines, than yes an oil with a higher ZDDP content is needed, however, in a modern gas engine there is no reason to add a ZDDP additive in the oil or use and oil with a high ZDDP content.

Like I told the other guy, Mobile1 Full Synthetic 10W30, 5W20 and 5W30 each contain about 900PPM of Zinc and 800PPM of Phosphorus. Which is completely in line with the maunfacturers requirements. When you get into diesel oils like a CF-4 API Spec, youre looking into about 1000-1200PPM of Zinc and in racing oils it could get like 1300-1500PPM...these gasoline burning engines don't require it...Thats why so many classic car guys used Shell RotellaT back before they reduced their ZDDP content, because it was the most available oil with the high ZDDP concentrations, cause their flat tappet cam engines actually need that stuff to help with wear.

So we have a meeting this morning to tell us that the powers in charge decided to go to biweekly payrole and friday will be the last check till march 4.These f---n b---rds don't care if that puts us in the hole.It's not the two week thing that pisses me off it's 2 days till payday when they tell us, it's the principal of the thing now i'm screwed my budget is null and void and my plans for bill payin this week are shot in the ass.I f---n hate this place with a passion, the powers to be don't give a rats ass about the employees [just like everywhere else] only the bottom line, i would love to tell them to go f--k themselves but that won't pay the bills which sucks. I'm gettin too old for this shit.

back in the day the ZDDP in engine oils were blended in high concentration...in racing oils like Valvoline VR-1 it can be like 15% ZDDP. The ZDDP made a film on the internals as a wear additive to protect metal on metal contact. This was especially important on older push rod flat tappet cammed engines. However, when the EPA mandated CATS on engines, they found that the ZDDP would actually damage them as it's emissions passed through them. So, the EPA forced oil manufacturers to lower or eliminate it from their oils. If we were talking diesel engines, than yes an oil with a higher ZDDP content is needed, however, in a modern gas engine there is no reason to add a ZDDP additive in the oil or use and oil with a high ZDDP content.

Like I told the other guy, Mobile1 Full Synthetic 10W30, 5W20 and 5W30 each contain about 900PPM of Zinc and 800PPM of Phosphorus. Which is completely in line with the maunfacturers requirements. When you get into diesel oils like a CF-4 API Spec, youre looking into about 1000-1200PPM of Zinc and in racing oils it could get like 1300-1500PPM...these gasoline burning engines don't require it...Thats why so many classic car guys used Shell RotellaT back before they reduced their ZDDP content, because it was the most available oil with the high ZDDP concentrations, cause their flat tappet cam engines actually need that stuff to help with wear.

Very nice day out today; didn't get as much accomplished as I wanted but I did get my wife Tee's New battery put in her Magnum SXT; then found out I somehow knocked some wires off her amp and had to repair those. Then washed our poor Scion XB that has been used in all the bad weather we were having. Put air in my air tank in my Magnum R/T for my air horns and that's about it. I musta been moving slowly......

I am no expert, thats for sure. If someone asks a question about an oil, I have resources available to me here at the plant that can point me in the proper direction, to offer advise to people. We have an onsite lab with chemists and such to bounce ideas off of and ask questions to. The ZDDP thing was asked to me a while ago on another forum and I simply came to work the next day and asked someone. I am a research hound, if I need answers to questions I will research my ass off and get as much advise as I can. Thats just the way I am.

For a small yard in town, $35. $45 for a bigger yard in the city but i can.push mow it. And getting $75 for a little over an acre that we use the rider and push mower on

damn...our mower took a shit on us, so now I have a service come out and do it....we have two city lots and pay $19.95 every two weeks. Then when winter comes he raises that up to $24.95 for whatever reason.

Whew, I have 1.87 acres to mow; hedges completely encircling our house trailer, trimming around the trailer, the two car garage, two out buildings, a horseshoe pit, it used to take me a complete day....NOW that I'm even older takes me a good part of two days ~ extremely rough in the heat and humidity here in the Carolina. And with heart disease, prostate cancer and COPD now, it gets really rough.

So when we were taking pics at the Polk County Fire Station in Davenport.. We couldn't back up far enough to get a good picture.. so what do we do? Yep you guess it.. block the entire road.. 5 lane road... we flip the emergency lights on the trucks and it trips the emergency signal infront of the station.. stop traffic.. 9 of us standing in the middle turn lane taking pics.. people didn't know what to think.

Then when we went to the Polk City station (yea.. good ol' Polk City).. we're in the middle turn lane of a 3 lane rd and Jay starts to do a burnout.. well the lady didn't stop and smoke starts billowing out of the back of Jays car and her eyes were about the size of dinner plates.. she didn't know what was going on. It was hilarious!
