*If you have a hid kit that is hid low and halogen high, You will not need to do this. Simply buy some capacitor packs and install.

Bixenon kits only follow this below, i.e. hid lowbeam hid highbeam

Supplies needed:
1. HID kit
2. 2 or 4 6/8ohm 50 watt resistors (depending on single/dual beam HID kits)
3. 2 9007 female connectors
4. Thermal tubing
5. Butt connectors/Solder
6. Heat shrink

First install the HID kit you bought. Test it out, If you experiance flickering, strobing, flashing, turning on and then turning off, LAMP OUT light etc. You will need to do the following.

*** IF you do not want to use resistors thats fine there are other ways such as using Caps or buying a more expensive HID kit.

NEXT starting with the easy part, the Passanger side unused plug.

With this side all your doing is tricking the FCM as to if there is a 50/55watt bulb there. Simply use a 9007 connector and add the resistors to both beams or just one beam. Then ground it.

Plug it in and and test the lights again...

***REMEMBER RESISTORS DO GET HOT SOO DONT TOUCH WHEN ON AND WATCH WHERE YOU MOUNT THEM AT

***If you still have any issues follow the next steps.

Moving on to the driver's side.

This is where you have a few ways of doing this but I will describe mine.
Do the samething as you did on the passanger side. Then take the wiring from the HID kit and follow the following picture.

Once this is done connect it to the trucks 9007 male connector and test it out. At this point you are done and the lights should work.

thanks
i need to get some 50w resistors for my pass side.
fyi 30w do not work to remove the lamp out, only to remove the flickering

No prob, I have heard very few say they get them working with 20-30watt resistors but down the road the same ones post up about the the annoying lamp out light. lol

The 50watt resistors trick does the job.

Also wanted to add if you bought a hid low and halogen high. You will not need this in most cases. You can solve all your problems with a cap pack or adding caps to your kit. I recomend getting the cap packs very cheap. I got mine free from hidextra.com.

The new kit works with no issues and no lamp out light either.

^^^ I agree the caps from hid extra work very well in the trucks. They didn't work in the avenger though. Alex I have an extra set of caps you wanna try them.

Not really just some texts from him saying they were good quality any color all we need is capacitors or resistors to get them to work...I can ask him anything you like....text me

Lee, the hid low halogen high hid kits only need cap packs to work properly on our truck. Resistors will be for lowbeam hid only or bixenon kits. I know the hidextra kits that are hid low halogen high come with cap pacs if you tell them in the notes what truck you have. 60 bucks for those. But if you want the bixenon you will have to wire up the resistors.

Jay, if you buddy wants to get things rolling. He can buy the resistor harness premade or make them himself like i did. I think I made min for like 15bucks buying stuff off ebay.

P.S. for anyone wanting the link to the resistor premade heres the link: http://www.carhidkits.com/wiring-adapters-752/50w-resistor-plug-play-pack-378.html

Hi, signed up on this forum just to ask you a question. Mine is flickering on and off and my bulbs have a green tint to them. Anything you dealt with before. Never knew of the resistor trick un till now. Searching around your name 03rammer came up alot. Figured I'd ask. Can I buy these somewhere maybe from you? Thanks geoff

Welcome Geoff, As far as the flickering on and off. Yes the resistors trick is for this problem along with others. Basically in a nutshell its one resistor per low beam and one per high beam. All your doing is tricking the truck/car computer as to thinking there is a a good working 50/55 watt bulb in place.

The green tint I'm not sure, maybe if the bulbs have been touched your oils on the bulb is causing it to act up, be careful they could blow up with your oils burning on the bulb.

If you want to just buy them pre made check this site out. I thought I posted this on the first page but anyways.

No prob me, too. Hopefully you dont have that much money tied up into these things. Like on the other thread you posted on the Hidextra kits are pretty good they are a hid lowbeam halogen high beam. If you want the markets only PnP kit talk to Todd over at Retro Solutions They are pricey but alot of us run his kits and he offers lifetime warranty. :)
