I have been without my truck for two weeks [it was totaled] i have been searching for a replacement for the last two weeks [2001-04 dakota or durango] but i have come to realize that they get around 13-14 mpg city so i have started looking for a 1500 quad cab 2003-05 v8,2 or 4 wheel drive [if i'm gonna get crappy milage i might as well get something with a bigger payload]. I'll take any one of the three but i'm having issues parting with 6-8 grand for a vehicle with 125-185 thousand miles. I would take that and put it down on a new[er] truck but i'm unable to have payments [due to liminted income] so far i have not found any thing in my range [plenty of ones i like] that is decent [miles under 100k] the trucks are all nice looking but high mileage. Plus i'm a little afraid of the 4.7s [due to issues they have] i'll keep ya'll informed. If this keeps up i'll get pissed and just buy that A100 and say f--k it. [my ole lady would kill me if i done that].

Lou, I know how hard it is to buy a used vehicle, never knowing how the last owners treated it. Thankfully with my truck, I got it less then 50k and its been a great truck, remember I have the 4.7 and now 107k going strong. Not saying all will by any means, there was a qc hemi on cl for 8k but it to had 150k or more, I know you said you can't really do payments, but you might wanna explore the option if the payment is right, for what you want, I pay like 220 a mth and when I bought it I only traded a truck in worth 2k and drove it away. I can only imagine what your going thru trying to find the right one and a good deal at the same time...good luck bud.

Your right jay but my monthly income after all bills food ect don't allow payments. I have found several 1500s 02-03 with 110-128k miles from 6k-8k still waiting on my check then i'll go chat with these folks and try to make a deal. I found a 03 durango for 4500$ 1 owner with 90k looks nice but i'm thinking i would rather have/need a quad cab truck. I'm trying to get the best deal for as cheap as possible [without getting screwed in the process] plus i don't want another 2nd gen going for 3rd gen non diesel [can't afford another diesel]. I don't really like the body style but it's growing on me [then again i did not like the second gens at first].

Thanks Jeff but i'm gonna stay away from duallys and diesels [like a high maintance women can't afford them anymore] i'm looking for 02-05 ram quad cab trucks that are not beat to shit [inside and out] with 90-130k around 6-8k and no payments, but i think i'm asking too much cause of my ocd/pickeyness my son,his girl,my wife are ready to kill me i'm so depressed and fedup with the crapy stuff out there for redickulas prices. I also have looked at 98-03 durangos and dakotas as a second/third choice no luck in that area either but really have not looked that hard for them. God i miss my truck took me 5 years to find my last one.

It's got a small vacume leak i gotta trace down i got a book from my old truck, cold air intake, plugs, wires, pcv, oil and filter, radiator flush, rip the interior out scrub everything and reinstall. I'll do photos after i'm done cleaning.

Ain't exactly the body style i was wanting but it'll do, got some sprucing up to do but it's in better shape than some of the 03-05s i saw and it should serve it's purpose for us. Already has dual exhaust [not loud enough] and a tonneau cover just needs a CAI and wheels/tires and a good scrubbing/waxing.

Then pictures will be exposed. Thanks ya'll, it's startin to grow on me just dont know about wheels [cause it needs tires and i hate the stock wheels] i want to stay with the 16 inch diameter rims [can't do a lift old lady can barely get in it now].

Blastphamy any red blooded american redneck would never lower a 4x4 Jay they are ment to be on 44's or bigger. That's why they make 4x2 trucks, at least in my mind that's how it's supose'ta work.I and my wife however have an issue with age so it will be staying stock hight [don't go muddin anymore anyways].
