Right now im running Flowmasters, not sure the exact number but it's fairly quiet. It's dualed and dumped after the rear axle. I want a deeper and a bit louder sound. I've got both cats still and removed the front resonator. Right now theres no crackle and pop unless I downshift it. Would like to keep it that way.

I am considering switching to Magnaflow but want to get yalls opinion first. I've listened to just about every hemi exhaust video on youtube but its hard to judge by videos.

Have you considered a pair of magnaflow high flow cats?

the mopar cats are pretty high flow. i dont really see a need to replace unless one is broke or something. i removed mine and they are pretty straight through with a couple of screens. you can see daylight through them. i have an at 3030 and i love the way it sounds but it can be obnoxiosly loud when i want it to be. im going to go back to stock with a e-cutout so i have the option of loud or quiet

Thanks RamStrat, I actually love the sound of my truck now but miss the deeper sound. Probably gonna get rid of the dumped setup and run them behind the rear tires. A lot of drone with the windows UP. If I am getting on it with the windows up you cant hear anything another than the hemi.

I was actually looking at the 3030 but couldn't find any good audio.

Alright I want the 3030's. I heard that it's not recommended to put a Y after the muffler. So whats the best way to run duals with the 3030's?

I'm going to get rid of the dumped pipe and run the pipes behind the rear tires. Want a new sound and look.

OklaHemi, I would but money is tight. Can't really spend more than $250 for parts and labor. Nah Alex, Ill let you know bout the other stuff soon though.

I heard my first Hemi with a CB Extreme today at work and it's not nearly as loud as I thought they'd be. I believe this is what I am going to do. $60 and I keep my duals.

I have true dual Flowmaster 40s, no cats, and, its loud, and sounds good at idle, but...it has an obnoxious blapping sound at full throttle.

From what I've been told, having two single pipes (no x or h-pipe) and the pipe being too small can both cause that. Though, I have 2.5"...so, too small probably not.

So, in other words, no matter what you do, add a crossover for better sound...unless your 2 into 1 into 2...then you've already done that. And, the bigger the pipe, the deeper the tone. But, keep in mind, the bigger the pipe, the more low end you lose (you basically move the power band up more towards top end).

I got my race land cutout for 112 and it cost 42 to have it welded in. It is VERY loud and sounds awesome. Close it up and its as quiet as stock. Cant beat it for the price.

Not too much of a fan of the cut outs. I'm either going to go with the CB Extreme or Vortex.

I have LT headers, a CAI and a Cherry Bomb Extreme. NOT real loud at all at idle, NO drone at all. VERY LOUD when you get on it and the headers made it very deep.

I have a sh*tty video on YouTube, taken with my phone, but you'll get some idea:

Got bored and cut off the muffler, and surprisingly it's the sound I was after. Hardly any popping, veeery deep. Not too loud either. Gonna reroute everything to exit behind the tires and call it done.

be interesting to see a chassis dyno run before and after to see if the loss of back pressure hurt the HP at all...

If I had the money and a dyno near by I would be glad to do one. I can just clamp the Flowmaster back on but after seeing the garbage that came out of it, id rather not.

I was surprised at how good the sound was minus the mufflers...sounded nice...

My plan is to replace the factory Y with a magnaflow Y and run it to an X to get regain some back pressure. Then run it out the sides either in front or behind the rear tires. It used to be dumped but I want a new look.

Don't really wanna deal with the labor fees so I plan on buying myself a welder and just using clamps and the hardener stuff for now.

Been tracking my gas mileage via fuelly. And I am pretty surprised. Without the muffler, I was getting between 15.5-16.5 MPG. After I put my muffler back on I am back down to 14-15. Gonna get rid of the muffler next week and get a more free-flowing.

I just came across this thread and this is pretty interesting, BassMaster your saying your getting better gas mileage without any mufflers? I use to have a cherrybomb glass pack way back when and it sounded throaty as hell inside the truck and out, and I was given a flowmaster by one of my good friends and swapped it out and damn it is much quietter overall I actually miss the glasspack. I am actually about to hack it off tomorrow and see how my truck sounds without a muffler.

I will give it a shot, regardless I wanted to take off my flowmaster, and I never gave mpgs a thought and I actually figured it would get worse, I guess only one way to find out.
