These are some pics of a brush fire we fought back in 2008. The fire was also less then a mile from my home. Thought I would share them.. I took these pics, all but the first one, that is My actual truck at the fire. This was taken by a news reporter. It was a VERY LONG Day that day.

Like I said.. A very long day. Well as of last October, I am out of the business. After 22years, I hung up my bunker gear and helmet. I retired from the FD. I will see if I can find some other pics and add them to this thread.

I am honestly scared of fires...I mean, a little bonfire, I got no problem with, but when they get pretty large, I start getting nervous. Unfortunately back in November of 94, our house and all our belongings, everything we owned was lost in a house fire.

I give a lot of credit to all fellow firefighters, but especially you guys that have to deal with wildland fires. I'll take a structure fire any day, because I know that if shit goes south, I can bail out a window. But in a wildland fire, well, I don't wanna be that guy that has to wrap myself up like a baked potato!
