Billet-ified....

Yup I did it, I removed the gutter mesh grill, and installed a replacement billet grill bolt in. I ordered a set for a slt RAM, came with upper grill and bumper coverlay. I cut bumper coverlay in half to fit it in my bumper and made brackets to bolt it in, this is not completed yet but will be in the next week. As for the upper portion, it has been sanded and painted high gloss black. Then dried for 24 hrs with out handling and installed today, I need to make 2 more brackets cause I don't like the other 2 they sent. Here are 2 pics to start, will have more later when she gets washed, along with the lowers installed.

Heah I couldn't answer that at the time, the r/t is still a conversation in my mind on what to do, go bigger, go with new dodge emblem....its still being thought out.

Those are the ones I have contemplated. Making badges isn't cheap. Id hate to pay a good price for one to fall off.

So the bottom piece you used is a billet similar to the main grill on my model/year truck? I want to put a grill in my lower section like that but I want it to look like my oem one. Just curious if this could maybe be an option for me...

Kind of but not really...I bought a grill set for a slt truck it came upper grill and lower bumper coverlay, I just modified the lower to fit my ss bumper. The kind of part is that it is horizontal, mine is billet aluminum space about a 3/8" apart.

Ok gotcha. I am curious how the brackets look you made tho. I have spare set of upper grill inserts I was thinking about chopping to fit in the bottom but wasn't sure how I would attach them..

I don't believe your sets are wide enough. That doesn't mean you can't get creative with it, I just bought some aluminum stock, and heated it and bent it into the shape I needed and drilled it.

thanks everyone, Drew your best bet would be get on ebay, and grab a whole set upper and lower that match, i think i paid 90 bucks for the whole kit.
