Need sugestions from my family

I have a few years [8] till i retire but i plan to become a snowbird when i do, we are planning on purchaseing a racecar hauler with living quarters as our retirement home. I was born and raised here in Florida [except for my military travels] i'm tired of the extreamly hot summers and warm winters,flat scenery ect. I want to find an area to go to that has a cooler climate during the summer. I'm sure that California and Alaska are out of the question. I have been up the east coast and across I 10 to Cal. and Flagstaff was nice also the cooridor of I 75 up thru Tenn./Kty. was nice as was Greenville S.C. but that was long ago and i'm sure things have changed. Any sugesstions would be helpful.

I really like north Carolina, it gets hot but not ballstick hot like here.

I want to retire to Travelers Rest, South Carolina. It's not mountain mountains but it doesn't get as much snow as the mountain mountains. But all states get hotter these days than they used to. I have family in AL, GA, NC and VA to name a few and they do experience some 90-degree days during summer. But like Daniel said, nothing like we have here, and not as many.

I can't add much, cause I haven't been out of the state of Florida since 1998. But I do have a lot of family in the Denver and Maiden, North Carolina areas and they love it up there.

Northeast is nice but we can have nasty winters. It can be hot and nasty humid here. Live near water and your good on the mid-east coast. Just hope for a calm hurricane season LOL

Try the mountains of NC/Tenn. very nice area. Also Bulldog'sRT moved from Fla to that area. PM him about the move and the changes.

I have concluded that i'm gonna travel to two different places [if possible] every summer probly in that area [Tenn.,Kty.,N.C.,S.C.] areas i have been in greenville S.C. working at lockheed and i traveled thru the others while transporting boats. I also have an automotive bucket list to complete [pidgeon forge,carisle mopar show,woodward and hot rod power tour]. So hopefully during those trips i'll find my narvana. I have always wanted to live in Tenn. don't know why.

I have friends in shady valley TN 20 min from SC and NC no sales tax in one those states so they do there shopping there and I think TN has no state tax?? but they do get some snow . I know it by bristol Good racing

The only possible problem that i may have is to be comfortable [my wife and i and dog] our race car haulers living quarters must be 24-28 feet [not including the fifth wheel overhang] and the cuda requires 20 feet minium to fit with toolboxes ect. so that make the trailer length 48-53 feet i'm worried about length restrictions in campgrounds. I have not went and looked at any trailers yet so maybe i'll settle for a smaller living quarters.

Being someone who has traveled to all parts of north America both during summer ad winter I would have to say TN is paradise. They have enough o all four seasons to actually appreciate it. It snows sometimes in the winter and it's not hot and humid in the summers. The scenery is beautiful the mountains are nice and they also have the tail of the dragon which is a bonus. TN is the only place I never minded going when it came to weather.

I moved from Upstate New York to here in NC in 1981 and never looked back. Taxes etc were getting really high. If I were to choose around here; I'd probably pick some place in South Carolina ~ cheaper living down there.

Me, I have been to Florida several times and loved it really. Have relatives in the PanHandle and it's really nice there.
