So the last few days I have been noticing a mildew like smell coming from my ac, so I need to clean it out, I know what to do, but I need to know how to get at the Evan core and drain. Anybody have to do this before or know the easiest way to get at it?

Yeah that's the first thing I thought of, I'm planning on circulating some Lysol through the system but I need to know where the drain for the evap is so I can make sure it's not clogged up.

From another site:

The AC evaporator/core condensation drain tube is located on the passenger side of the fire-wall towards the bottom of the fire-wall, (it resembles a heater hose that is coming off from the fire-wall and it connects to nothing, and it is just to drain the AC condensation) and it is easily viewed from under the vehicle. Use long pipe cleaners folded in half to clean out the AC drain, and be very careful that the AC evaporator/core, or the heater core is not damaged from using any hard or sharp objects to clean out the AC drain.

I would spray the Lysol in the air intake at the top of the windshield with the ac running blower on high to make sure it gets totally circulated but make sure you like the Lysol smell it will get inside the cab :)

The lysol really helped the smell, now i gotta get some pipe cleaners and make sure the drain isnt clogged so it wont come back.

Trenton is surrounded by cow farms, so when the wind is blowing right it smells like one.

Every time i come home from a long trip i just take in a whiff, "Yup smells like home!"

lol

Well i cant get the drain unclogged, i think it is clogged because i ran the AC at full for about 20 minutes and there was no water under it, so I guess i am gonna call Dodge tomorrow and see if they have a quick procedure for that, I cant get rid of the smell until i get that fixed.

Daniel, this won't fix your drain problem but should fix the smell problem. The new Fabreeze auto air neutralizers work! I bought one for my car last week because it stunk....BAD! As you know, Ashby is 5 and he drops snacks and beef jerky pieces in the car after school. I don't know how he does it but the pieces always end up under his car seat and between the back and bottom of the rear seat. The fabreeze neutralized the odor as advertised. One does cost $4.99 but well worth if you have a bad small.

Good luck with your drain.

The smell has lightened up some after the lysol, and i cant seem to make any progress on the drain, im not even 100% sure its clogged, im gonna try a few things and see what happens.

While I was under the truck changing the oil I saw the actual drain, it's not on the firewall. It actually comes right down out of the floor, and I saw water dripping out so I know it's not clogged, and the smell has all but disappeared so I guess my problem is solved.

I have some of the Driven brand air fresheners. They work okay, then they fade away, but will come back with the heater.

I turned on the heater for about three minutes the other day then switched to the airconditioner and the smell has gone away completely.
