DFRD decal
FTG FBR(see mods before buying)
SEMopars decal(in the mail somewhere)
Hella optilux 1900 offroad lights(to be installed)

Frontier truck gear rear bumper replacement with backup sensors and hitch with ball(to be done by August 2012)
Upgrade sun visors to ones with lights and mirrors on both sides
Upgrade mirrors to laramie/laramie longhorn tow mirrors
Underhood light and top glovebox light
Painted engine cover(or vararam) and billet tech underhood dress up kit
Tint(probably 5% sides and back)
Tow hooks
3" leveling kit
Cutout

Maybe mods:
430N or 730N radio with lockpick
Upgrade speakers and maybe add subs
Custom headlights and tinted taillights
In rail toolbox and maybe wheel well toolboxes
Backflip F1 bed cover
Bushwacker pocket style fender flares
Mopar interior light kit and bed light kit
Bigger tires with new wheels or plasti dip factory wheels
Slush mats and seat covers for coming back from the lake
In floor cooler/storage locks
Under seat storage organizer
Stitched dash cover from sport or laramie
Katzkin custom leather interior with added heated seats and sport or laramie power passenger seat swap
Nitrous kit
Headrest monitors and flip down monitor

Upgraded anti-swaybars
Train horns

X2. That front bumper is just way too big.

SmokedRam
04-25-2012, 10:45 PM
Yeah, no offense, but it just doesnt fit the stance of the truck and from reading your mod list, it doesn't look like you're planning on throwing a BIG lift kit on it...maybe if you were gonna say lift it...like 7"+...yes, it would fit in.

garner
04-25-2012, 10:58 PM
I like my bumper :( It might fit in more once I get the back one on. And I would do a 7" lift but that requires new wheels cause the factory wheels have more than 5" backspace needed for the spindles so it would be around $5,000 for the lift, wheels, and tires. So I'm just doing the 3" level for a couple hundred bucks

garner
04-25-2012, 11:44 PM
Here you go Adam. Although I would still go with a diamond plate back bumper replacement like the front

That looks better bud, but I still dont think that bumper flows well with the truck...but if you like it, rock out with your ummmm Ram out...lol

garner
04-26-2012, 12:29 AM
I would do that if I felt like putting that much money into lift, tires, and wheels alone. Plus I'd rather do it to a 4x4 and I'm not sure how long I'll keep the current truck either

04-26-2012, 12:40 AM
Ive never been a fan of the stump jumper, but on a non lifted truck, they dont look right. Once you lift it it will look better!!

I like where you are going with it tho!!! I cant wait to watch the build!

Thinking about getting some of this for the caps and stuff in the engine bay, Duplicolor MC100 - Anodized Paint | O'Reilly Auto Parts (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/DPL0/MC100/N0799.oap?ck=Search_N0799_-1_714&pt=N0799&ppt=C0171)
Duplicolor MC200 - Anodized Paint | O'Reilly Auto Parts (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/DPL0/MC200/N0799.oap?ck=Search_N0799_-1_714&pt=N0799&ppt=C0171)

Pretty much since our caps are plastic you spray the base coat(first link) which will give it the anodized finish on plastic and then you spray the finish coat(second link). Anybody ever use that?

And thinking about doing red calipers and the black chrome paint on my badges instead of pd. Opinions?

SmokedRam
04-26-2012, 10:05 PM
Anything Duplicolor is pretty decent as long as you prep well.

Anything Duplicolor is pretty decent as long as you prep well.

Good to know. I'm probably gonna wait awhile on the underhood painting stuff until duplicolor carries my body color and then I'll do it all at once or until I can afford to buy another engine cover and do it in hemi orange and then the current one in body color to decide which I like better in person

garner
05-09-2012, 01:20 AM
So might get some taillight guards ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/09-11-Dodge-Ram-1500-Taillight-Guards-Black-/270733679506?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2009%7CModel%3ARam+1500%7CMake%3ADodge&hash=item3f08fc1b92&vxp=mtr#ht_2262wt_1165 ) to complete the kinda offroad look that I have going on with the front bumper and the rear bumper that's gonna be like the front. Here's the bumper btw, Frontier Truck Gear - Diamond Back Bumpers Gallery (http://www.frontier-gear.com/html/BB/BBGallery.html) Just not sure if I'm gonna go no exhaust cutout like the first pic or with exhaust cutout like the other one on the 1500

And think I might do an intake like this to get rid of the factory air intake tube, 3.5" PIPE DODGE RAM 1500 2500 SXT SLT 5.7 5.7L V8 HEMI COLD AIR INTAKE 2009-2010 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5-PIPE-DODGE-RAM-1500-2500-SXT-SLT-5-7-5-7L-V8-HEMI-COLD-AIR-INTAKE-2009-2010-/280870695335?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2009%7CModel%3ARam+1500%7CMake%3ADodge&hash=item416532b1a7&vxp=mtr#ht_2676wt_1165) but make it use the factory airbox and have either black or red couplers and maybe paint the tube

I need a job! :( So many mods I wanna do(interior lights, bed lights, tool box, paint/vinyl) that I wanna do but my mom won't cover and I have very little money for :(

But we cancelled the warranty and GAP on the R/T the other day which totaled around $2215($1515 for warranty and around $700 for GAP) when we bought the truck but will probably be prorated down to $1,500-$1,700 so back bumper, backup sensors, tow mirrors, and some other stuff should be coming

garner
05-29-2012, 01:33 AM
Well Adam is probably gonna be happy to hear this news. Might be taking the front bumper replacement off and making it more of a street truck. It'll be cheaper in the long run too. Instead of like $1,500 for a back bumper, back up sensors, and a 3" CST leveling kit. I'll probably sell the bumper replacement for $700 or $800 plus a factory bumper and then instead of tow mirrors I'll do sport mirrors and maybe a 2/4 drop so it'll only be like $500 for the lowering kit(tow mirrors and sport mirrors are around same cost which are already accounted for)

Hey Yall! there aint nothing wrong with a lifted truck/cow crusher i think they are way more sexier than a street truck..IMO..But Garner do what u want with ur truck, it's ur truck. btw love the front bumper guard, my bumper guard doesnt even fit my truck but i rigged it to fit so it i hit something the only damage i might get is my fog light my fall off that it my bumper guard aint movin' and my truck aint lifted even tho i want it to be, lol and its a 2WD not a 4WD lol so just do what u think is best for your truck, cant wait to see the build

garner
05-29-2012, 06:36 PM
Bastards!

Caleb you could come up here and help lol

Paige yeah I love the bumper and the plan I had going but the inspiration truck is sexy. Plus the original plan would be at least $2,000 for just appearance($600 for rear bumper, $200 for sensors, $500+ for level and then labor and taxes). But this one will cost pretty much nothing(can sell the bumper for around $800 plus factory one since they're around $1,100 new and then 2/4 drop is less than $500 so I'd have at least $300 for other stuff). Only expensive thing are the wheels but those will be down the line. Mine is a 2wd too lol

Btw for anybody that missed the pic on Adam's facebook this is the truck that gave me the inspiration for the new plan. It now has color matched blue headlights and taillights done by JJ

garner
08-19-2012, 08:58 PM
Thanks Daniel!

And yeah I was gonna black out at first but then I started thinking about what I wanted and what I liked which is the way Adam's truck was with all the chrome(before he painted the grille), the monotone outdoorsman with chrome bumpers but painted grille and painted fender flares, and the laramies.

So decided to start adding chrome and after I put the wheel covers on I was like this color looks a lot better with chrome than black. So now gonna start doing chrome like the mirrors, tailgate handle cover, and hopefully sometime the damn front bumper lol. Plus fender flares and still not sure if I wanna go painted grille shell or leave it chrome. Along with some interior stuff like a radio, dynamat around the door speakers since they vibrate them, maybe mopar kicker speaker upgrade, and katzkin leather

Well update on the mirrors, according to Chrysler a reflash won't make the turn signals work even though I have the correct door modules and can choose illuminated entry in my evic. Oh well

And I may be keeping the front end replacement cause I've been thinking about it and I'd rather replace a tweaked bumper mount from a wreck than a whole front end. A local dealer has a 09 ram with full replacements for sale that the dealer I bought mine from did back in 09 when it was brand new on their lot. So might try to trade my bumper and exhaust for it's bumper and exhaust since it doesn't have cutouts which is good cause I plan on leaving mine dumped

So some good news today. Found the factory 430 radios(both ren and rbz) on ebay for $400-600 so I'll be going with that instead of aftermarket.

And I finally found a place that sells the 3" coil spacer that CST uses on their 7" hemi lift kits and it's only $120 compared to the $300 I thought it was gonna be. But gotta find a good shop that will install it for less than the $250 I was quoted which seems like too much for what I believe is just take off the wheels, compress the coils, and install the spacers

Also found a site where I could build my leather kit and I believe it was around $1,600 which includes tan perforated leather with brown stitching, lonestar embroidery like the 10th anniversary lonestars, heated seats, and I think some other stuff I'm forgetting

Well I decided I'd go ahead and post pics of the carnage

This is the result of hitting a buck head on and popping a doe's head at 40

Damn that blows, I almost hit a turkey on the road today, crazy shit.

Have you talked to insurance yet?

garner
10-01-2012, 12:27 AM
A turkey? Wtf lol. That's a random one. Glad you didn't though

And yeah we called insurance about 10 minutes after it happened. Just gotta figure out when the body shop can look at it. Gonna try to have them order the parts and then I'll drop it off on a Thursday afternoon and have it back by Friday afternoon so that I can drive my own vehicle to class. But not sure if it'll work since the passenger side front door barely opens so idk if something got pushed back or it's just cause of that big dent on the fender. Also gonna try to get the sport hood instead if it's near the same price

Yup, damn wild turkey ran right across the road right in front of the avenger, that car gets all the animals for some reason, it has 2 raccoons and a cat under its belt, and way too many close calls.

Hopefully they will get ya all sorted out.

garner
10-02-2012, 02:49 PM
No bueno! Hopefully animals stop getting attracted to it

Just called the body shop and they haven't been contacted by geico. So my mom is on the phone with geico right now trying to get the appointment set up. Normally the truck would've been inspected the next day(so monday since it was a weekend) but not sure what's going on this time

AWE Daniel
10-02-2012, 03:04 PM
Damn Geico!

The only time I had to do a claim with USAA, they sent a guy to our house and he worked up the estimate, and in a few days that money was in our bank account (minus the deductible).

I showed the estimate to the body shop and they said no problem, and they fixed it up quick.

garner
10-02-2012, 03:12 PM
Yeah not sure why they're being so slow this time. But the body shop we go to is a geico express one with a geico office intact so we call geico and file the claim, then take it the next day and get it looked at, and geico sends the check straight to the body shop and I have the truck back within a day-week depending on amount of damage. But this time geico is being slow, but have an appointment thursday at 8:30. So gonna have them evaluate it, then I'm gonna keep the truck hopefully till the parts are there and painted, then drop it off on a thursday at 12:30 and have it back by friday at 5 hopefully

AWE Daniel
10-02-2012, 03:54 PM
Damn one day to repair all that? That's quick

garner
10-02-2012, 04:17 PM
Yupp. Well more than one day since they should paint the hood and fenders before I drop it back off. So all they'll be doing is unbolting stuff and bolting stuff back on. Like on the R/T when the back bumper got messed up the overnighted the parts in the snow from 3 hours away, painted the bumper, fixed the exhaust, and had everything done that next day by 3. So hopefully they'll do the same this time

garner
10-02-2012, 04:51 PM
Not sure if you remember when my R/T front end got messed up but they replaced and painted the bumper, bumper supports and absorber; replaced and painted fender, new headlight light, fixed and repainted the hood(had minor damage, but that took more time than ordering and painting a new hood), replace fender liner, and some other stuff. Dropped off 3/16 at 8:40 and got it back on 3/18 at 5:15. The 16th was ordering parts, 17th was painting, and 18th was installing and detailing truck

So little update. Went yesterday and we found out that with geico express you have to leave the truck that day. So we were gonna see about doing it without geico express but both the owner and manager are on vacation. So next week when they get back we're gonna talk to them and see which way we wanna go and what all they'll replace and what we can change

garner
10-09-2012, 12:24 AM
So another delay. My mom is supposed to be going out of town thursday which is when the manager and owner come back from vacation so depending on when she leaves thursday I might not be able to get the truck in until she gets back

garner

Well have another appointment tomorrow morning at 9. Hopefully they can make an exception on the rental car since my mom will be going out of town for 2 weeks that afternoon and she's bringing her car with her

Good luck on that with you being only 17.

garner

Yeah I know. It's gonna be tricky if I can't. I'll have to hitchhike to class and all that lol

SmokedRam

You should have tried to talk your mom into taking the rental and letting you borrow her car. I don't see the rental car company budging at ALL without you being 21. Some let 18 years olds rent them, like in New York...but they have a surcharge of like $60 a day for drivers younger than 21...hell, in Alabama, I think you have to be 25.

garner
10-10-2012, 06:08 PM
Well if I was 18 she could rent one and I would be able to drive it. But I would use her car except she has special stuff on and in it that she'll need

10-10-2012, 06:27 PM
Lie to the rental company. We always did : )

If the truck is in her name then it's her getting the rental. Who knows who drives it in between. Been driving rental cars since I was driving lol. Just don't wreck it!

Lol I've driven it before for a day or 2. But issue is with returning it, my mom is gonna be gone for 2 weeks and truck will probably take a week max(I hope) so I'd have to find somebody to return it lol

I knew that was coming eventually lol

Thanks

Just got the final estimate back. Gonna be 6-8 days so next friday-tuesday after that. I'm hoping for next friday. They said bumper and bumper mounts were fine and they would try to figure out why it was hanging like that in the back when they put it back on

garner

Truck is gonna be done Monday but maybe tomorrow depending on how fast they can work

Picked up these 17" wheels and tires off a durango for $75 today, gonna use them as drag wheels. Tires have a little tread but I'll throw on some decent 265/70/17 after I burn through the 245/70/17 on there now

So now I just have to decide what I wanna daily drive on

those were my first set and I believe the best tires.

garner
03-12-2013, 09:30 PM
Yeah I love them. That's what I put on the R/T(285/45/22) and they were amazing in the wet and the dry. I just hope they hold the same with being a little narrower on this truck

garner
04-17-2013, 02:21 AM
Well little update, mods are pretty much done. After adding up all the stuff I wanna do to actually love the truck and bring it up to R/T standards and higher(seats) it would be close to $10,000(leather, new dash and door panels, nav and backup camera, performance bolt ons, offroad tires for the 17s in the garage and mobile winch, and darker tint) so I'm just gonna take that money that I was planning on saving over the next 12-18 months and put it towards trading in the ram on a fully loaded wrangler rubicon JKU(probably 2012+ but may settle for 07-11 depending on the deal, options, and accessories)
