View Full Version : New shocks arrived! Now I need to make a decision *POLL*

So i got my new shocks and I want to get them installed ASAP but I have been tossing the idea around to level the trucks rear rather than the front. I would like to get this all done in one shot! Should I get 2" drop shackles for the rear or leave it factory stance? Any advice, pics with this set up, or suggestions.....

The shackles would give the truck an even stance look. Level to the eye.

i have drop shackles on my truck plus i removed the overload leaf, and i sit perfectly level, i would recommend mcgaughy's, or djm drop shackles

I have DJM shackles on mine, it's not perfectly level but I like the slight rake, still debating on taking out my overloads, it is a truck after all

Yea I am actually hoping it still would have a little rake but i don't have the overloads. I don't want it to look like its squatting when i tow something.

Edit: maybe i do have an overload leaf but i know i dont have the overload shocks. Is the overload leaf easily identifiable?

It's the flat one at the bottom if im nit mistaken, all the trucks have this spring, technically it's not an overload but that's what we call em

its 2wd and your in FL. YOu don't need high I'd drop it just to level it

It's just the very bottom spring, its only use is for full payload.

Just ordered. Got them for a little less than 70 shipped so not bad. Probably get em on next weekend thanks for the help

Only a few more exterior mods left to check off my list before I move to interior/stereo stuff!

Leave it as it is. You will get better gas mileage because it will always be going down hill. :)

Just got the shocks and drop shackles on and it looks and rides great! Still has a very little rake which is exactly what I wanted. Gonna clean the truck tmrw morning and put some pics up

I didn't get a chance to wash it cuz of the rain on sat but I will get some up this week. I can't believe how much better the ride is with the new shocks! I guess i didnt realize how bad the stockers were
