Are there any cons to cutting the cat off besides having a code thrown and having it smell a little weird? Those I don't mind.

Depends on your state and if they have emission law.

Florida used to have emissions you had to pass to register your tag....

Also, if you go to trade or sell your truck, they will likely check for the cat....its a huge fine to them for taking a vehicle in without a cat......

Alot of people will take them down, bore and hollow them out and put them back on to appear that they are still there, which "technically" it is, but its non functional!

Theres no emission laws here and no inspections which is nice! And I'm not worried about the dealership because if I ever sell it, I'll just sell it outright. Plus I can sell the cat to a metal place in Okc for around a $100...

You could get a hptuner and set the code to not report

Could I just go to a parts store that has a code reader and set codes not to go off with that?

negative. you know theres no real gain on our trucks that have the 2in-1out cats right? there hi flow cats from the factory. if your gonna do exhaust and you wanna pick up some tq/hp. do a set of longtubes and 3" stainless with a hi flow bullet style muffler or no muffler at all. but just read up on back pressure bro...

I had no cat from the factory ;) Been running straight pipe exhaust for 4 1/2 years no issues.

Alright I'm probably just going to leave it on because I've just heard abunch of negatives on it. Hopefully the new glass pack will be enough, which it should be.

Like what? I removed my cat on my 90 wrangler and didnt have any issues. What are you reading that will happen if your remove your cat?

Just everyone saying not to because it'll smell, engine light will come on and there will be a significant power loss because there wont be any back pressure on the engine.
