This is for the Central Florida Chapter. We need a chapter president elected, and members to start and or schedule events for this chapter. I hope you guys will enjoy this. I will have info from time to time as well as Ramstrat.

Tampa area members, I have kin folks living over in Clearwater have not drove my Challenger down there yet. My favorite two area's to drive is when I get off I75 onto Gulf to Bay and the other is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge the views are awesome.

That's what i thought but i couldn't help it. Well there's an easy solution to that go to the local classic car dealer on gulf to bay look at a charger they have for sale[hopefully] and ask to take it on a test drive wellah your epic dreams come true.

Yes PJ's classics i would not buy any thing there unless it's a consignment car they have had some issues with some of their cars in the past.

They have a decent selection now, they have a 60 someting belvider[can't spell] i like but can't afford now. There was another dealer called golden classics but they moved over to hurcules ave. high dollar items by appointment only been in there nice stuff.

Back right after I graduated high school my friend and I took a drive up to Dade City. We got up to the Beverage Chest and I looked over to my left. In a fenced in lot with weeds grown up about 3 foot high I saw what appeared to be an orange car. So, we found a hole in the fence and walked through it...got back to the car and it was a 69 Charger R/T...old colored man came out to the car and said it was his...said he bought it brand new, drove it a year or so and got a speeding ticket in it and parked it. I BEGGED him to sell me that car, but he wouldnt budge...even offered him my car and cash..but he refused. I had a sad face after that.

Yep i had a roadrunner in HS it was a a pile ran like a raped ape but body was junk my friend had one just like it but cherry he blew his clutch and asked me if i wanted to buy it for 300.00 bucks i ask my dad for a loan he said no i had too many toys cluttering up his yard. It was a wedge big block 4 speed 68 roadrunner gold with a checkerboard vinel top and interior i tear up every time i think about that loss.

LOL...my uncles father in law lives in Safeth Harbor and I take Gulf To Bay Blvd to get there...only one time I hated it was when I got half way down it going home and realized my uncle left his meds at his father in laws...had to turn around and drive back on it.

There is a hotel there, but I don't recall the name of it...but you're probably right...as they have mingled in all sorts of business ventures...i.e. Hooters Airlines...

My family on my grandfathers side is originally from Lakeland and I spent most of my teenage years there on the weekends...my dad, 3 uncles and grandfather were born and raised there.

And yes, the Hotel was the Hooters Hotel, it was demolished when Hooters remodeled for a parking lot. It was mainly used on racing weekends at USA Speedway, which was up the road on Hwy 33, and which had a lot of Hooters series races. The track was sold and bought by R & L/Gator Carriers and demolished.

And someone put me on the list as a member please.

I SO wanted to go see USAC race at USA Speedway...they worked so hard to get USAC to come to Lakeland...after the first race is when they announced it would be made into a parking lot more or less.

^^^ When I lived in North Lakeland, I was right off Old Polk City Rd, literally about 3 minutes from the track. Me and my neighbor went quite a bit and never bought a ticket. And back when the NASCAR guys would come and practice you could go to the track, drive right in the gate and take a seat to watch. It's a fast track. I went to see the PRA big cars run there a couple Decembers ago...man, they were fast on that track.

If I couldn't make it to the house, I could always sit on my screened porch and listen to them.

I hate that they tore it down. And they are not using it for anything, they just tore it all down and it is an empty chunk of land now.

R & L/Gator Freight bought it, for expansion of their warehouse and parking. I moved from there about a year ago and they hadn't done anything with it other than tear down the bleachers, press boxes, ticket houses, etc.

the only month where we as a club have nothing planned so far is September...in October we have the Wiregrass show on the 8th and the Knights of Columbus show on the 23rd. In November we are having a G2G and riding up to Ocala for the "Mopars with Big Daddy" show...December is up in the air.

Well, There's a Hooters right off I4 that's easy access and plenty of parking. There is mud bog park off Hwy33 that my DT group used to meet at occasionally. If people wanted to get dirty. Some would, most of us just lined up along the wall and setup grills, socialized with the family and watched people do stupid things in the deep mud.

I'm new to this group so I don't yet have a feel for what you all like to do, Restaurant meets, Off Roading, Parking lot hangouts. Give me some time to be here and maybe I can recommend something that's fitting to the greatest group of people.

We havent had an official "meet" as of yet...we hosted a show that benefit breast cancer at the Cop Shop Sports bar earlier this year, but most of our "meets" have come through meeting at car shows...and eating at a restaurant after the show.

The location manager said it was all good, he just needed to call his corporate office to get it approved. A week before the show, after we had been promoting it locally on FB and other various web sites and had Amalie Oil (my company) and Tampa Jax Wax lined up as event sponsors...they wanted us to do it on a Wednesday (I believe it was) rather than a Saturday...cause they were "slower" on Wednesday...we had to scramble to get another venue lined up in a weeks time. Luckily for the club, the Cop Shop stepped up to the plate big time and we have supported each other ever since.

I could understand that. I've been more of a WingHouse guy anyway if I'm going for food AND Atmosphere. I think the last time I actually ate at a Hooters was maybe 15 years ago. Never was impressed with their wings. I pretty much go to Beef OBrady's more than WingHouse anyway.

I just figured Hooters in that spot only because of the easy on/off from I4 for all the others coming from directions East and West.

Lake Parker has a couple of larg(er) pavilions, but I don't think they have any large grill areas. The last time I was there, we had to bring in a grill large enough to cook lots of food on. That's been a few years though. When I get teh chance, I'll check it out.

I'm still registered with most of them but i don't even log in anymore there's only one i frequent Ram Forum but i only look around and move on, i was also on every Mopar car forum and gave up for the same reasons, except For A Body's only i go there for parts for sale for my Cuda.

I have found that for the most part these forums are for entertainment and swapping DIY advice but you do get the occasional jack ass that want's to be a keyboard bully. That's why i just read the posts and surf but not post.
