I got myself a K&N intake. I love it. It’s got a nice roar to it. It's definitely got more power and in normal street driving I have gained 1 MPG. I am very happy with it.

Here is a picture of it installed.

Coming from a diesel background. Almost 9 out of 10 diesel owners do not trust K&N. There are way to many issues with their filters. Countless accounts of dust getting past the filter. I ran their filter for 50k after examining the turbo and air inlet tube. I found a lot of dust. I'm not the only one. They seem to be mainly focusing on gas engine rather than diesels.

Personal experience time: Guy brings in his 2008 diesel 2500 in for repairs with the complaint for lack of power. Our tech found dust/dirt in the turbo. He then looked to as why there was soo much debris. Result was a K&N filter CAI. They voided his warranty because of it. I have also read a few similar experiences with other owners on the forums.

IMHO and in a lot of others the best filter to run is a stock OEM one or an aftermarket dry media filter or CAI system. Just my .02 cents. Not trying to bash K&N I use to bee a follower of them until my recent experience.

NICE!! I love the sound of an cold air intake. BUT 03rammer is right the oil to clean the filter gets sucked through into the throttle body but if your worried about it you can get a 4in DRY FLOW filter for about 30 bucks and they are alot easier to clean .

well one thing for sure NA don't suck as much as a boosted engine. I'll keep an eye on it.

The hemi's must love the K&N's because mine has been great. I noticed an instant difference in sound and power, and it's been great ever since.

you don't need a CAI

just throw a cone right on the throttle body
thats what i did

I'm not a believer in these things yet, my gauge always shows intake air temp is about the same as ambient temps, and its not like they force more air in, so that's why I have stayed factory

any way to remove factory restrictions is good. Now it breathes in and exhails the best it can. Beside fixinx the y-pipe and removing cats and headers.

You wont do better than outside air temps. That is ideal. Now you will get heat soak on the box and the tube. So at idle is when cai performs the best. And that is because of my setup. A hai my idle see,s the higher temps. Then when the car moves I have outside air temps.

Then again the temps don't really mean anything for my car

NICE!!!!

I have a complete K&N Intake on RamIt. The Power, Sound and Fuel Economy (well no such thing as fuel economy in RamIt), but the Power and the Sound were definitely worth the installation!!!!
