Wiregrass Mall is doing another show next month. They're spacing them out now instead of doing every month like they used to. This one is a daytime show, and once again, it's FREE. 50+ Trophies. Registration from 8a-12p, awards at 3. They're having another club participation award with $100 going to the winning club.

I'm planning on going, as I get out of work that morning at 7A, and I can shoot right over. Anyone else wanna go? We may be able to take club participation again!

These shows will be quarterly at wire grass now, let me check my satudays of work schedule, I hope to make it as that may be the last show before I move, that just means a cpl weeks of coarse....

Wow! just watched a video from the folks that do the Wire Grass show on how they judge the vehicles. Outstanding video. a must watch video to get pointers on what they look for. I enjoy these types of shows the most mainly because of the tuff judging. If you don't win, at least you know it's not be cause somebody's buddy, buddy got the win.........the Don Garlits show is basically don that way.

I too watched that video and agree that is a good way to know what they are looking for,however i beleve that the paint chips that were picked out were over the top these cars are driven not trailored so things happen. I personally have never had their judges even say hello to me [some times there were worse comments] when they came to judge my car. I'm not interested in trophys any longer after 20 plus years of this hobby [with an older cosmetic restoration i can't compete anyway] they used to be a priority many years ago [with a fresh built truck] but now just a day with my car and talking to other folks that is my enjoyment. Most of your car shows and cruiseins were and allways have been ran on the good ole boy method [no matter what they say, i have been doing this for over 20 years]. We here at the redneck garage have began to scale back on our outings with the cars [getting burnt out on car shows, plus we need to get the charger done] so on that note i most likley won't be there have fun ya'll see ya sooner or later somewhere or another.

I was gonna say that but i held my tongue,many of the more recent shows have not broken up the year ranges [premium productions does i think] so us classics have to compete against brand new stuff [unfair] with a bunch of bolt ons and unless your classic is very slick you are toast.

I have to agree on the paint chips and all. I have a few myself beings I drive the R/T everywhere and it just can't be helped. I'm going due to hearing how great it was and wanted to investigate. It's one of the last big shows before we head to TN. As for the trophies, I have plenty. The most coveted is the Don Garlits Pick for 2010. For a MOPAR guy, that says it all. I also enjoy talking to everyone and always seem to learn a new tid bit here and there. And we are going to have to cut back on all the shows we used to go to. We are retired now and have to watch our money. So it'll be a lot of M7G and cruis in's to feed the fever...LOL Sure hope to meet some of you guys before we got to TN.

Don't get me wrong Wiregrass is a great show tons of cars,lots of folks looking you will have a good time and the SEmopar fellas are a great group don't forget a camera and your chair,i understand the watch the money part i'm in the same boat so that too is a reason to scale back,back in the day we were going to cruise ins every nite of the week.

So lets make this another big one for SE. Even though they may be a little tough when it comes to judging, they're still fun shows, and it's a great opportunity to get the word out for our show in Feb. Maybe the Jax Wax crew can join us at this show too!

I'm a tentative for this show, as much as I wanna be here, it falls during a really big step for me and my family, the house should be completed by this time or close to it. So ill be a deciding factor the closer it gets...

I don't know what's going on with the tax collector's office but I still haven't received my new tag sticker, so I'm expired. If it comes by Friday and I can get the truck ready, I'll be there.

Registration is 8A to NOON, awards at 3P. I don't think waiting in the garage for everyone that will be there around 8 will be a problem. Anyone disagree? I still can't figure out why they are having a show that starts at 8AM on a Saturday. LOL

And I'm really hoping my new tag sticker is in my PO Box tomorrow.

Lee is the registration paid for? If so your fine, they can look it up and your good to go. If that's a if you get caught, I see ppl around here that have been expired for over a yr, and I see the same car everyday, don't know how he gets away with that...

I could see a great comraderie amongst every one which makes for a strong club. Now on to the pics. On another note, I'm a little discouraged with premium car shows (the company that does the wiregrass shows). Despite seeing the video on how they judge, they show no love for the daily drivers that people bust their asses on. It seems like the same cars always win, and with the 55 trophies given out yesterday, I only counted 3 mopars. (An older Chrysler, and 2 modern chargers (1 DSM, 1 unaffiliated). Just my $.02

I don't like to go to premimum shows because of that reason i have had a few issues with how they judge [that video was just a dog and pony show i have never seen nor heard of them doing that] i have been doing the car show thing for 20 plus years in this area and most of the shows around here are what i call good ole boy shows same folks get trophys every time [or at charity shows whoever donates the most]. I personally don't care about trophys i go to show off my car and relax with friends besides i can't compete against most everything like iv'e said before i'm a turd in a punch bowl. And i'm convinced premimum judges don't like mopars.

Yeah, I'm not real fond either. And their classifications are confusing. My truck is modified, Jay's truck is not, Cianfrocca's mustang is modified...I don't really get it. I did talk to the judge who judged my truck though. He said there is no question my truck belongs in modified class. He also said you have a really nice truck and it scored high with the exception of the engine bay being dirty. I said I'll try to work on that next time. LOL

And although an award would be nice, it's not really why I go. I go to hang out with good friends, and that's exactly what the day was. I look forward to the next one.

I know that their definition of modified is differant than the Don Garlits Show. There the modified means bolt ons as in headers etc. and you can have up to three for stock. Over three is modified. and the classes...oh what classes...LOL. no sense at all. I asked the judge if he needed to see my fire extinguisher Saturday because you get extra points if you have one and he said nahhh. Took an awfull long look at the car but never said anything. Well what are you going to do. Like it as said..It's the good ole boy system. Hay after the Don Garlits choice for 2010, everything else is peanuts any way for a MOPAR person. Like I said I had a great time socializing with you guys. Sorry we didn't go to Red Robin........YUMMMMM......with you guys , but my son was on his way. Next time though.......My wife also thanks you guys for a great time....
