AParrette

you'll only get about 15% more

the power numbers they advertise w/ are motors that have been rebuilt to handle more boost

I agree on the money aspect...slow? Would question that. I know several street driven diesel trucks over 800hp/1000 torque range.

Even with gassers, want to spend the money, can make it as fast as you want?

sure drop some coin on a truck say like 15-20k only to run 12s maybe 11s. i realize some people do that but i dont see the point anymore.

Well im in the 12s with '98 ext cab that s/c'd...

15%?!?!? Are you joking?

Dude... S/c a gas truck is fuckin unbelievably fun. I did bolt ons first but always had the s/c planned. I dont have new numbers but i made 528 on the iron heads--shiity intake--stock injectors and pcm.

I have a freind that has a 09 1500 5.7 with the 6.1 conversion with a p1 procharger and his truck made over 500 fully tuned from lethal. Dont let the weight fool you. My 6500lb truck has no problem running down car's..

Im not sure where this 15% power addage came in.

Think we have got off the subject a little bit. O/P was about hp/superchargers/costs. Not how well/bad a truck corners.

Believe the point trying to be made is that superchargers and a little money can lead to some good HP.

you need more than just a supercharger though

so 5-6k for the supercharger
2-3k for supporting mods including the tune
then another 3k when the trans goes
the money stacks up fast ya see...

You can make that lost money up though if you go to the drag strip and start racing for cash. If you have a fast enough truck, it wouldn't be to hard to make up the money and maybe a profit to.

A truck is a truck. That's what it boils down to. A truck is made to haul and tow stuff and that is fine because that is what a truck is MADE to do. I had a ram and it was a great truck but no matter how much $$$ I was going to throw at it it would still not really be that quick and will NEVER handle well. Which is fine because its a TRUCK. You don't see people supercharging minivans and trying to make them fast because that is not what they are designed for. Just think the fastest cars in the world are CARS lol. How many trucks can go 250mph?

6500 lbs!!?? Have you weighed your truck? At the track scales mine only weighs 5450.

AParrette

i said 15% because that's what a stock motor would do w/ the smallest pulley available

and i tried the fast truck thing and i wasnt happy w/ the 9mpg
the car everything i throw at her performance wise just increases the mpg

biggest pulley you mean... decreasing the size of the s/c pulley and crank pulley adds hp. i have to fast trucks and neither get good mpg... trucks dont do that shit stock.. let alone modded. lol

AParrette
12-09-2011, 07:54 PM
what size pulley you running now?
and i went from slightly over 20 mpg to 26 ish more if i baby it. less if i beat her
but 26 for a normal drive

i went from 14mpg with the work done before the s/c went on. no im at 12 on a 2.5" pulley with a set of underdrives. 360's are boost kings.

REALLY ??? Have you ever played with a supercharged SRT10 ?? Seems to me that the class I attended upon the purchase of my SRT10 was all about the Street Racing Technology !!Performance,Handling were most definitely built in from the factory !! Add the SC and the thrill ride just got better !!When was the last time you got up on the Interstate and played right along side of Lambos,Vipers and the like ??
