ok guys so i was watchin videos on youtube and it got me thinkin....how are all of these guys with stock rams and a 4.7 doing these hella badass burnouts...but yet mine will break em loose and thats about it... dry/wet it dont matter, lol i know its bad and what not for your whole driveline i was just curious as to if they happen to be doing something that im not, now mind you i am running wider tires but i dont think that that should have that big of an effect on it :Grenade:

maybe they have lower gears...running a custom tune...I'd bet they are running lower gears though..you can ask Jay about his 4.56 gears, he is running them

Most of them look bone stock and do more than me lol. But i guarantee that jay could with his gearing. It just makes me wonder if I'm not doing it right

well, with the 4.56 they will break loose really easy, and accelerate better...can also save you some gas too because the truck gets up to speed easier and the engine isnt working as hard.

Are they running 20s like you? It was stupid easy for me to smoke my 17s, but it takes some effort to get the 20s going.

oh shit! daniel you might be right...9 out of 10 of the vids they are running 16's or 17's...that may be the culprit.

Even with the hemi yours will barely break em loose?

just because something looks stock, doesn't mean it is stock

I agree with Kevin and doubt they are stock trucks you're seeing on YouTube.

I GOT IT!, lol...
what i was doing was just gunning it right off the bat and it wasnt giving the engine time to build up any power...so i held the brake till the engine got to about 2500 then slowly let off the break and BAM smokin em all day

Its the traction control wire . If you cut the wire and tape both ends it turns off the traction control .I did mine I spin the 22's in drive ,when I get home I will take a pic of the wire to cut . I'm sure someone will chime in the guy i bought my headers from had his done

I had read somewhere on another forum that we might have traction control but I don't know exactly where to find it or if there was a way to turn it off

OK, so it's the torque management wire you are actually cutting...and looks like it only works on the 03's?

AWE Daniel

Yup the 03 tmr mod, I was wondering if that's what you meant.

I was thinking about it and the guy that told me had an 03 also . I wasnt sure what it was but I finally got my brick to spin the tires without power breaking

Getting rid of that seems like that it would have adverse effects on the tranny...but he said in 3 years he had no problems

You don't have a 03 Preston and if you would have bought a superchips tuner, you could reduce it drasitically like I have...

The SCT from hemifever on the 93 tune practically has all of the torque management removed

Oh and I have looked and I'm still wondering why that only works on the 03s did they do something to the pcm or tranny after that year?
