Yeah, don't need those to see backing up at night anyway. Mine don't do squat for me considering the dark windows, how big it is, the height, everything....which is why my stereo upgrade is going to include a mandatory backup camera!

my LED's are brighter than the reverse lights anyway..so there is a pretty decent amount of light coming off the back end even though i usually don't rely on that. reminds me, i saw some guy at a truck pull with a circular LED thing coming off the back bumper that looked really cool. a backup camera is sweet!

What LEDs? You have auxiliary backup lights?

I think he has Recons or something like that...

Yeah he does, but thought he must have auxiliary LEDs under the bumper by what he said, and considering he just painted the LED bulbs in his reverse lights (if he bought the LED bulbs not included in the Recon tails.

My tail lights are LED's but my reverse light is an actual bulb, not a LED. This guy at the truck pull had LED's coming off his bumper to act as lighting at night when reversing, that's what I meant lol

these are my tail lights:

There is a socket for the reverse light bulb right on the bottom

Oh ok, didn't realize you were talking about another truck. LOL

lmao sorry for the confusion...what that guy had looked pretty cool though..he must have just wired it right into the reverse lights..pretty simple, but beneficial mod

Yes, a very functional and inexpensive mod.

That looks pretty cool, I might have to try it myself... So all you did was take the regular bulb and paint it blue? What kind of paint did you use?

Thanks man, I actually might do this so it'll match my lights behind the grille

Did you use spray paint or just the brush on paint?

02Steve1990

Just a brush..went to michael's and got a really small jar of the paint..I think it was like 99 cents lol and just used a small paint brush to apply it.

Just one question, this paint won't melt off from the heat will it?

4XLGator

^ If it does just paint it again...the paint was only $1.50.

I don't think anyone will use they're reverse lights enough, or long enough for the paint to melt. Looks cool dude!

Only reason I asked is I lit them up before I put the bulbs back in the taillight and I accidentally touched the bulb and a little paint came off. Maybe it just wasn't cured enough then.
