It's a long story. I was tired of getting screwed around and being treated like crap. Just a bunch of stuff that kinda came to a head all at once.
It was time for me to leave anyways. I was missing out on a lot of stuff in my life with my family for a job that didn't appreciate me at all.

I can't count how many times my wife called or text me while I was at work covering someone else's shift telling me my son had done something new for the first time. It gets old missing all that stuff with my son and not having anything to show for it...

I talked it over with my wife and we decided that it would be in our best interest for me to find a new job that will work with my schedule for school and give me time with my family. I haven't been able to finish college because I couldn't find a schedule that would work

I've got a buddy with a paint and body shop that I could work for in my free time. My mom owns a few restaurants that I do maintenance and stuff for so I won't be hurting for money, which is good. It's just that neither is constant work but they're better than nothing.
I'm also the "shop mechanic" at my wife's work lol

The reason i'm writing this is as i said i did most of what you did a little earlier in my life,i don't understand why you did not keep your job while you looked for something else [did not understand it when i did it].You can't earn enough to support a family with what side jobs you get[dependig on frends and family gets old],with the economy in the crapper jobs are at a premium good luck finding one that fits your desires,does your wife work? I have been working for 37 years i have never worked any where that apreciated me or did not screw around with me,you are paid to do a job and that's what they exspect they don't care how you feel inside. I spent 10 years in the military i missed most of my daughters growin up but she had food and a roof. I have missed a lot of my sons growin up but again they had food and a roof. I can't do much for my cars because it's a luxury so i do with out. Most of the reasons you gave are lame in my opinion but what do i know im just an old fart who don't know nuthin. Get your education and improve your self don't fall in the lazy mans way of life [you will be temted] if you want some thing you'll get it.

You're welcome. I know what you mean in a way, circumstances are different but I get it. What I mean is, since my divorce I feel I'm missing a little more than half of my son's life...it's hard not to think of it that way, which is why I cherish every moment I have with him.

But, in this economy and current unemployment rate, I surely hope that the maintenance, mechanic and paint/body shop work is enough to keep you and yours cared for. And I'm sure it is considering you and your wife discussed it and made a family decision.

I did on my iPad but not my phone. I got it downloaded and my phone would start to sync, but when it started to backup, it would freeze. I was reading how a bunch of people were having the same problems since nearly everyone was trying to update theirs yesterday.
I'll give it another go tonight when I get home

Last night was a disaster to update. I tried 3 times but the server connection kept timing out...I'm sure due to the amount of people downloading the new iOS.

So, I took my MacBook with me to work and updated my iPhone this morning. It took about 2-1/2 hours (1-1/2 hours or so for downloading and 1 hour or so for back up and syncing phone) and worked fine.

The new iOS has some cool features.

Yeah Itunes wiped the ipad, worst program ever, best part is most of the new features I wont ever use on the ipad, great! At least there is an option for redownloading purchased apps in the app store now, that saved some time.

the download too all night for me. I did the update the next morning. took over an hour to do the update but everything was ok. There is 3 other iphones in the family but ill do them next week when everybody is done or theres less updating going on. Way too many people trying to do this at once. Figure between the all the 3gs and 4's out there theres gotta be at least a million. Apple didn't plan the load too well

there's no issue with the Os itself. People are just having issues with excessive download times or a session time out error when trying to install it and both of those are server related.
I haven't heard of anybody having problems once they finally get it installed

I've had no problems and really like 5...has some really cool features. I don't have an iPad though, just an iPhone 4. And I haven't heard of anyone having issues with 5, except for their server being overloaded the first night.

And I updated my MacBook to Lion a few weeks ago. The update was flawless and operation has been flawless thus far.

Oh yeah, and I got no issues with iTunes...it's flawless between my iPod, iPhone and MacBook Pro.

Lol well I finally got it working. Had to restore my phone to factory settings, update, load the back up to get everything back on it then sync my music back on there. Such a pain...

All the issues with using itunes with the iphone was the reason I ditched my 3gs almost two years ago. The phone itself is great, but the hoops you have to jump through to use itunes properly are not worth it. I had my phone wiped clean several times by an update. Which is why I never wanted to sync the ipad after we got that. So when the first ipad update came around, itunes didnt have a backup of the ipad so when the update came it wiped the ipad clean. Itunes tries to do too much. There is no reason to sync apps like that.
