ok, lets get this section started with a good discussion.

everyone has their own preferences and tastes so let's be respectful and not bash the Dart fans LOL...i keed i keed!!

my favorite of all time is the 68 Dodge Charger R/T. I love the look, love the lines, what's not to love!! if you notice Dodge is using some of the lines from this model on the 2011 Charger and the tail lights of the 09-10 Charger are a throwback to this model as well although on the new Chargers its a full lens light assy and not individual lens like on the 68

here's a pic

no cheating now

dodgefan67

so it wouldn't be in the rear view?

so you can open the trunk. since dealer sold race cars had to be fully functional thanks to the man

Thats one of the stories according to an article I read online. But the reason is the engineers say that the aero numbers kept getting better with the wing as they raised it until it reached 3 feet high...so they left it there...

"Two stories explain the rear spoiler. The common idea is that it's three feet tall so the trunk can open. However, it could have simply been mounted on the trunk in the production cars. An interview with the engineers at Chrysler, long ago, included a comment to the effect that as the numbers kept getting better as they raised the spoiler, until it was three feet off the car, that's where they left it."

love those redline tires!!!

They are michelin radials with the narrow white walls painted red.

They repop radial red lines, but not in the size I wanted. So... You gotta do what you gotta do!! :p

Thats a heck of a lot safer than what I have seen guys do to make white walls when they cant afford them. there is a layer of white rubber under the black rubber on the sidewall of every tire...they take a grinder to that outer black layer, revealing the white under layer...very, very unsafe.

My dream car has always been the '70 Challenger R/T. But I did own a '71 Charger SE with a 383 Magnum. She was a beast. What I wouldn't do to have her back now.

Parked in my garage now? No question.
1970 Daytona Charger 426 Hemi.

http://autotraderca.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/plymouth_road_runner_superbird.jpg

I enjoyed the heck out of the years with my 70 'Cuda 383 4 speed. No regrets, but convertible w/ 426 Hemi would have been great.
Another Mopar classic was the 1966 and 67 Charger. My cousin owned a 67, 383 727 trans. Had 2 buckets in the front, and two in the rear. Rear ones folded down. Remember movie drive-ins? I do!!! The instamental panel was great! It did not use regular bulbs to light the gauges. Instead electroluminescence lit the four chrome-ringed circular dash pods that housed the 0 to 6000 rpm tachometer, the 0 to 150 mph (240 km/h) speedometer, as well as the alternator, fuel, and temperature gauges as standard equipment. I think I know why they did away with the design that stomped on the AMS Mataror. I can personnally attest to that above 90 miles an hour, the rear end would lift up and drift. Not a good thing.
Gods speed, Doc
