I'm located about 60 miles from epicenter, it lasted about 20 seconds and was a roller with a a half dozen bumps. Pretty impressive, we have never had this magatude here before according to a reporter on TV. No damage, family and friends are all good.

Walter, my daughter in Virginia Beach said she felt it, she didn't know what it was. She has lived all her life in Virginia and has no experience with earthquakes.

Yeah we felt it here in High Point, NC. It only lasted a few seconds. Pretty weird though.

Apparently it hit here some although we were in the car and felt nothing. Some locals told us that they had felt it however.

No, she's a tough lady. It was just something she hadn't experienced before and didn't know what it was at first.

Mike, I prefer the Virginia country side to Tidewater. But it doesn't take much to get from one to the other. Come on down.

It's going to less than a good time this weekend with Irene coming through. They are calling this the storm of a 100 years. My daughter's family and friends are coming out to central virginia to visit me. I just hope they have something to return to when this all passes.

You've been in 48 states? That's pretty cool and quite an accomplishment, Mike.

To all SEM family in the areas to be affected by this storm, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

And the hurricane, Lost power for a day and a half but more lost it for a week or longer...just a lot of wind and some rain but nothing like what tropical storm Lee dumped on us when she rolled through. I thought my apartment was going to flood!!! The water was 2 inches from coming up over the ledge off of my patio. I need a 2nd floor apartment....=0(
