Alright I might be able to do another mod to my truck soon! So what should it be? I want to lower it but that's not my priority right now. How about getting it totally repainted? I'm just going through the list, what do you all think?

Sorry, my vote would be to lower it....

Thing is there is alot of imperfections in the paint and I scratched some places up on my doors that look like crap. That's why I was thinking of just totally repainting it, then I could get everything color matched :D

It is purely a personal choice either would make a good mod. Are you leveling or lowering? Paint always looks good.

Lowering more then likely, but paint would look good! I'm probably gonna go with the gun metal grey

There are bunch of greys that look fantastic. From the different titaniums to ford's dark metallic grey. It'll look great.

In my opinion, both are good options. But, with paint you get more bang for your buck, so-to-speak. What I mean is painting will make a more noticeable difference, like a new ride.

^^^ That's what I'm thinking, a new paint job will make it look clean plus I can go ahead and color match everything

Do you want appearance or performance??

I would vote for paint!!! But if you are going to do it, do something different...

If you're gonna have someone else paint it, you can save ALOT of cash by doing the bodywork yourself.

Think that's what we're going to do, we have all the body tools we need to do it

I've done some performance mods recently so I'm thinking an appearance mod now. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with a gun metal grey. Something like this...

Paint is a mod that gets noticed right away. By having it painted you can then see in which direction you want to go with other mods. Good Luck with your choice.

Whatever you call it lol what do you think paint would run me?

SmokedRam

depends on what you get...

Urethane base coat/ clear coat...this is the good stuff, more like the factory paint...will coast more

Acrylic Laquer...this is what the factories were using back in the day...prone tp sun fade and cracking as it ages, can also yellow

Single stage Urethane...this is your least expensive option....this is what Maaco would spray if you got one of their budget paint jobs...

Colton...check here for paint....

if you decide to go with a metallic...save yourself the headache and let a pro spray it....

If you decide to go with a metallic, you will want to either practice you ass off spraying it or have a pro do it...and if you have a pro do it, make sure they spray every body panel at the same time, same painter, same booth,

I'm just gonna have someone do it. Think that color would look good? And $75 for all the paint! Think that's a legit deal?

SmokedRam

Yeah, I think it will...TCP is a good company...alot of my friends have bought Hot Rod Flatz from them

Is a gallon enough for the whole truck?

SmokedRam
07-31-2011, 02:05 PM
should be, since it will be reduced....dont forget clear...

SmokedRam
07-31-2011, 02:08 PM
Are you planning on doing the WHOLE truck, like jambs, and stuff? Or just spraying only the visible things?

SmokedRam
07-31-2011, 02:10 PM
Also, before you purchase any paint, find a painter first...some of those guys are hard headed and will only warranty paints they buy...like PPG...some go to the extent that they will only spray PPG...and nothing else.

I might have a painter, gonna have to do some calling first. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go that far or not on the painting. I'll just see what prices they offer and go from there
