How far are you guys

From the panama city/ destin beach area? We are heading down that way mid October. We are planning on staying for 5-7 days and driving, probably the Hoe, so we can be mobil. A day or two in Orlando may also be in the cards.

its only 14 for me, im so used to trecking to colorado thats nothing. we really have no idea on what to do or where to go when we get there. we just wanna have a blast and spend some time on the beach. i have heard destin is the place for that. open to suggestions guys

The beaches in the panhandle are the nicest, unless you wanna surf then Daytona is pretty good

Destin, panama city, pensecola, all good ones, Destin is more of a resort area you should be able to find a nice hotel

We went to Destin last year for a wedding and had a blast. Wished we could've stayed longer then two days though

The east coast is my favorite beaches ! If its you and your wife I think St.Augustine is the best . Theres alot to do and just an hour from daytona and I think you can still drive on the beach at daytona.

Daytona is a great beach but the water at the panhandle is crystal clear

That's what I am shooting for. My wife and kids have never seen an ocean and I don't want to take them to a wavy lake, Otherwise I would just hit Galveston. Panhandle it is

Mike, the panhandle aka the emerald coast is prettier than the east coast (daytona) in my opinion. and, i would suggest destin over pensecola and panama city beach. in addition, the east coast is a lot rougher (bigger waves and undercurrent) than the panhandle. the panhandle is about 6 to 7 hours for us tampa bay area guys, and orlando is about 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
