Project 3rd Gen R/T

So Ive been thinking of ideas of the next step for my truck and I think I have decided to make a 3rd Gen R/T. The first phase should be pretty easy, Im going to get some badges for the front and rear and maybe some sort of R/T decals or something.I haven't seen any decals that quite strike me yet, but Ill think of something. I might also get the rear headrest embroidered with R/T since I didnt do anything with them when I got those done. Im also going to go see what I can drum up for a better exhaust tip tomorrow. Phase 2 will be some performance stuff, nothing too fancy just a CAI and maybe upgrade the front springs when I get around to doing the front shocks. Im also going to try to ditch the toolbox and find some sort of bedcover. Ive all-ready got the HEMI, now I just need the flair lol.

Feel free to suggest some Ideas!

look in the right side bottom of the tailgate it's the chrome R/T emblem from an 07 charger his was the first mod after i badged the Sport emblem:)

Daniel, you may also wan to consider Bilstein shocks and Hellwig Sway Bars. The combination of those items will make your truck feel as stable as a car in the twistys. Bilsteins and the Helwig sway bars were the 2 best things I ever did for my 2nd gen.

Ehh not really a big fan of badging non R/T as R/T. But then again dodge made a R/T neon and caliber and this would definitely be better than those. Can't wait to see how it turns out

Dodge makes an r/t version of everything, you can get a 4 banger avenger as an r/t

My stratus is an SXT and I badged it as an R/T.

There are two differences between an R/T Strat and mine. The R/T has a ground effects body kit (side skirts and a moulded rear bumper for the exhaust) and it had disc brakes in the back.

I have the same motor as an R/T,

I cant wait to see this project progress....

I have a truxedo roll up cover for a 3rd gen if your interested. Its in pretty good shape, no rips or anything. Its just taking up room in my house. I would have to agree with putting some drop shackles on the rear to level her out some more.

Daniel, for the true R/T look, you will need a color-matched hard cover. LOL

And I'm interested in the truxedo cover if you don't buy it. With my toolbox and 5th wheel hitch, it will depend on how it mounts.

If you havent got a front bumper sorted when I execute operating facelift I will see what we can do about getting you my bumper. And you need a roll pan for dat ass. It will set the badge off the chrome it overpowering

Daniel, I really like everything YOU have done so far and I'm loving the R/T emblems; I bought my LARGE R/T emblems from the dealer. These were for the Chargers with the road and track packaage and the emblems are HUGE!

And RaceRam ~ I'm loving the stripes on the back of your ram! Very nice!

Thats what I am using on my "RAW" emblems on my grille...even with 2 straight days of driving through downpouring rain, they are still stuck solid to my grille...thats good stuff...

Yeah I know there was some R/T owners that got pissed because of it. The way I look at it is that the R/T is a fox body gt 5.0 and an express is a fox body 5.0 lx. R/T has all the nice features, express is the few options pure truck/race or whatever you wanna use it for

Oh if you do the Herculiner, dont forget to get the optional UV protector...otherwise that stuff fades REALLY bad after a while, even though your bed is covered.

I dunno about this stuff.....

I started by masking everything up then sanding everything down, then I cleaned it up with some degreaser and dried it real well. Then i put a really thin layer of the bedliner on then went real heavy. This stuff goes on hella thin so I am hoping the final coat brings it all together because right now its not looking that great....

They didn't have herculiner, this stuff is the Rustoleum brand. I am considering using some clear coat over the top of it when it is dry, but I think I am gonna run down to Advanced auto to make sure they don't have that stuff first. Is the UV topcoat a rattle can?

Yes, between 4 and 24 hours...anything over that, you will need to scuff the surface then proceed to apply it.

And Yes thay are that good! I didn't get them I cheaped out and got the nifty catch-its. They are not real cheap either lol just cheaper than the weather tech. I think I paid around 150 for the fronts and rears. If you got the cash and want the best mat and best fit you go with the weather techs for sure.

Its been awhile since I updated this I kinda forgot about it but I have done a few things in the meantime.

I scored an Air Raid CAI from a friend of a friend pretty darn cheap. The sound this thing makes is intense!

I have since replaced the weatherstripping so it looks a bit better than that.

After seeing how much of the spark plug wiring was showing after installing that I had to get with Gail and American Powerhouse to hook me up with some Taylor Shortie Plug wires to eliminate that rats nest of plug wires that the hemis have, it looks so much nicer now.

I forgot to add that I bought a pillar pod from Tito and Jay was nice enough to pick it up and ship it to me, and i got an Aeroforce Interceptor to put in it. It's kinds hard to take a picture of but here it is.

It has a nifty performance meter, so i gave it a run through, not bad, I'm about as fast as I should be.
