Any of you guys using Drag Shocks to help squeeze a little more traction out of your rides? I have heard that you can contact most shock companies and tell the to re-valve the shocks to help grip a little better.

That's very effective old schooling. Back in the day six cylinder coil springs, no sway bar and 90/10 shocks was the setup for the front.

What abkut the rear?

Back in the day, rear was mostly 50/50 shocks, with extended under hanging traction bars clamped to the spring with the bump sitting on the spring eye using a mono spring. Crude as shit but effective. On our trucks I like the CalTracs/Aeon spring bumper using a standard shock. The caltracs keeps everything in proper alignement so as not to damage driveshafts and bent up springs.

I'm contemplating dumping my leaf spring's and welding in some bracket's and doing coilover's in the rear,... and in the front.

I never seen a drastic change in a 60' from a shock switch though.

I've heard a tenth off your 60ft times with caltracs and around a tenth and a half with caltracs and drag shocks

Ryan, with the height of your truck you get more transfer then Red. As far as wheel control goes, CalTracs does the job with complete simplicty. You could a little more action if you raised the front a little and used drop shackles in the rear. Red squats on the Aeon springs and everything is locked in position. If anyone is going to be even half serious about their times they need DR's.

Oh yeah, deff man. Spend a few buck's and do it all. I got a set of 315/50/15 Hoosier Drag Radial's f/s. They have 4 1/8 mile passes' on em. My truck hooked really cleanly with em.

1.8 60's consistently. Dropping from 3400RPM and I don't have trac's on mine. It has shackles in the rear, with 50/50 MOPAR shock's with a "built" rear.

Jeff, your truck is badass. My 60.s are 2.1 on street tires. Stealth has a lot of bite. Very cool.

Jeff what kind of power do you have coming out of that engine?

Maybe that would be the trick, stick a drum brake rear axle in a 3g so 15" rims could be used.

Before the intercooler, roller rocker's and meth kit, 387whp/439wtq on the 9lb pulley. I should be clearing 400whp now that the I dropped the atmospheric combustion chamber temps 600*, added the FMIC and roller rocker's always' free up a few horses'.

There is another S/C'd Gen2 I run with at the race's that's bone stock on a 14lb pulley with a Procharger D1 and a tune and he's at 369whp and 412wtq. My truck is ready for a six speed...

You went with a 160 thermostat right? Should i go with that or 180 for my truck?

Not even bro. Mickey Thompson, Nitto and Weld Racing have 17x8/9/10/12/15" drag wheel's.

I been wanting to get a set of fat and skinnies for the '98. Stick a set of 15x3 & 15x12 Prostars on it with tubed slick's. Pull some real number's.

Radial's are fun to learn how to hook on, but I been wanting to get 1/4 time's. im done with the 1/8.

Only reason I went with the 160 was because of the supercharger. Like I told ya bro. The cooler an engine run's (to a certain limit) the longer it will last ya.

If you're running a clutch fan like me, go 160...

I need to get my Caltracs on first, that will help a whole lot right there. A good set of DR's or Slicks would be nice, and I've played on them many of times this winter, but right now though its more about getting the ride right and getting it to hook up. And in a light weight truck, its a never ending battle specially with some of the things I want to get done by the end of the year.
