So I have a car mount for my Droid X, and I use it for Torque diagnotics. Have it hooked up everytime I get into my truck. I am wanting to mount it on the pillar so it'll look cleaner and be easier to read (my eyes suck at reading far away) So I got it down to these two ideas:

1. Buy single gauge pod like one below, and then mount the car mount onto that
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99-00-01-02-DODGE-RAM-CUMMINS-SINGLE-GAUGE-MOUNT-POD-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem43a78859beQQitemZ29057 3539774QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries

OR

2. No gauge pod and just mold the car mount onto the pillar with fiberglass and bondo, sanding it down of course to make it smooth.

What do you all think?

Neither...because by the time you sell the truck, the droid x will be out of date and the new buyer will be like....Wtf do I do with this contraption....

Ok well im not real worried about that cause i plan on keeping it for a long time. If it comes to that then i can always take it off, so which one should i do?

I would go with the Gauge Pod then...

This way if you ever change phones, you can swap out the phone mount and it wouldnt be FG'd in...

If you are going to do it use the single gauge pillar style. Don't home make it. You can always remove the other one and replace it with the original part.
