Man that would be fun, I'm gonna have to do that sometime. We got a track not 20 miles from me, I just gotta do it, and maybe get a few guys to join up there to

Too bad it is so far from me, I would be up for some racing to get a baseline before I put the new converter in.

If you ever get up to Cecil let me know, I would be able to do some racing there.

That is where I ran my 14.8 bone stock. Drove the two hour ride there, did three runs, and drove the two hours back home. :D

I am unavailable for a little while as I satisfy the "Mod Gods".

I'm in the same boat, 1-1/2 hours there to make a couple of runs. But how else do we validate our mods? Sounds like you are doing something serious. Care to share? The new wheels are only a 1/2 an inch shorter and a inch narrower, but they light up at a snap. I'm not sure how well Red will do, but everything else is pretty much dialed in. Wish me luck.

pretty much got the tune dialed. Afraid I'm going to have to trigger my shift lite right off of an injector. Going through the window switch, it doesn't seem to keep up with the engine.

So how did it go??

Hmmm, I posted when I got home but don't see the post. I has disappeared. Weird..

Ok I post again. It was a good time. The facility is nice. There was some sweet cars there, but not so many as to keep you waiting.

My best run was a 14.366 @ 94.30
I made 5 passes, all very close to one another. Red is your basic street truck that runs very constistant speeds and times. My best R/T was a .177. Best 60 2.099. 1/8 9.171. The main problem was the shiftlight can't be adjusted properly. I suspected this before going. I'm thinking I'll move the trigger to an injector. It is now being triggered from my window switch. I believe with a little more work I'll have her into the 13's.

Dang man thats awesome!! I would be stoked if i could get mine into the 16's

I'm hoping a friend of a friend got some pictures/video's. I'll find out later today. I'm confident she'll go a little quicker by just cleaning up the shifts and a shift kit wouldn't hurt. In my mind I was thinking, damn this sounds like a old lady going to the store, as I was hitting the rev limiter and shifting. lol it was a good time. Track is always a good time.

Mike, The TMR mod was probably one of the first mods i did years ago. I need to investigate some on what all controls the rpm limiter. The SC adjustment is at 6400, and the shiftlite is set for 6200 and it seemed like I was still banging into it. I also going to look into what valve body's offer what features. With the floor shifter I was thinking this should be pretty straight forward, but something else is still interfering. Remember the 03 has a seperate TCM. I'm going to have to get smarter about how it works. Still it was great fun.

So is your truck a 5 speed or 6?

Redtruck-VA

Don't want to sound dumb, but why do you need a shift light if its an auto?

Mike, I certainly wish I had a track close by. I'd become a real track junky. lol

the Tulsa Speedway is almost always busy with lines for miles just for spectators. not to mention the friday night drags. i have some acquaintances that own a box and race in the super modified? they are running 7s cars, its fun to go watch them. its actually some close friends of mines parents, both husband and wife race.

I had to drive a 1-1/2 each way, fortunately it wasn't packed and not a lot of waiting. I don't like driving after dark, and of course it started getting cool as soon as I left. A friend said he dropped another 3 tenths because of the temperature. But I got my baseline so I'm happy. That was the first time I have run the 1/4 with Red. I still have plenty of little things I can do to squeeze a little more out of her.

Colton, the 03 models do not have trans support so the alternative to a nice shift program is to shift it manually.

ramthis9501
07-02-2011, 03:08 PM
So you can shift your truck manually even with an auto trans? Wow I sound like an idiot...

Colton he has something similar to a b&m ratchet shifter. Another way to shift autos manually is autostick

Dam man now i feel really stupid, i forgot about autostick, well now i know lol excuse my absent mind there
