Well this was a disappointment. Just plain couldn't hook it up. I don't get pissed by this stuff as it is all on me, but it is frustrating. Three runs, 9.66/72.12. 9.46/73.66 and 9.49/73.77. Shifting was a joke. I'm hitting the trap at 6100 in the top of 2nd really pulling. It is all about the launch.. Last year I was hitting the rev limiter (5850) just as I passed the trap, so this year it's a lot stronger. But I really thought I could break into the 8's without a problem and now it's going to take some more work.

What was the weather like? These hemis hate the humidity.

Jasom low 80's 94%. No one was doing good today, the track was shit. But I just wanted to do better. My shifts were inconsistant and tractions was unpredictable. She' (I'll) do better next time. Did spank a late model Mustang slightly modded with a 5 speed and Pontiac that the guy was talking up. Got my hat handed to me by a beatiful 68 big block Camaro that setup as a street racer. Did I say this is addictive?

You'll do better next time with better weather. The humidity killed you.

I'm going to install a floor shifter to help me shift and run my tire pressure down to 26 psi next time i go.

What are you aiming for

I don't have a fixed number in mind, but I can tell when what I have isn't working to full potential. And engine is making good power, it just needs to hook up. I need to move the battery, change tires and develop a consistant shift. Then it should be a solid setup.

yes 8th miles and u need to get some drag radials and 17s that will help u hook up. i had no traction in mine when i would floor it

True, I'm going to change back to 17's. They are making DR's for 20's but I'm not happy with the wieght penalty of the 20's.

it would be a waste really for 20s since the sidewall would be so small and wouldnt grip as well as it would with 17s

My regular tires are 30" tall so there may not be a lot of difference.

I think I'm going to say the primary problem was the track just didn't have any traction and the heavier the vhecle the more it affected the times. Plus I need to spend more time at the strip to gain experence. Not many Mopars, but there was a couple Duster's. Red was the only full size truck, a Ranger or two and some S10's. There were some very nice DOT street class vehicles, a few came in on trailers that were track prep'd. It was a good time.

Keep at it, Greg...you'll get there.

Lee, trust me I'm going to keep at it. It's easy to get carried away with the race theme. Red's a street truck and as long as she performs respectfully on the street and can still spank a wannabe racer occasssionally it is all good. lol

I'm tuning her using SC3865/PSC1 and it run great. I just need some track time to gain some experience.
