ok so i gave in and got a new addition to the family. AKC White Boxer named Titan, he is going to be an inside dog and a lap pup. no accidents inside yet ive been pretty militant on his PT. im thinking he is going to be huge 8 weeks and he is at 16lbs, he was the biggest of the litter.

his brother was solid white with blue eyes and he turned out to be deaf, not a problem but he was gone within in 5 minutes of the ad placing they said.

i was really reluctant to get a pup with the kids and all but it has been great so far. thanks guys

Thanks guys this pup is the most chill dog I have ever been around. I get him up walk him to the door he porgies we play and he is out again, lol. I have been working really hard on training him wi pplay and it is working like a charm. At 9 weeks he can spin(clockwise), counter spin, sit, crawl and I do the crocodile Dundee thing with my hands it's freaking hilarious. He will some times need a little motivation but he is learning well. I have read that training them is more tiring than letting the run wild as it requires them to think. I don't expect much since he is a pup but he has surprised me over and over. He know to walk to the doors, and go to my neighbors yard lol and is taking to his harness and leash finally.

Side note I took him to get his ears cropped today and will put up new pics when the sutures Come out of the tape comes off. He got a medium tear drop that fits hime perfectly, he doesn't even act like anything happened. Crazy dog

ok ill get new pics up but this pup is living up to his name, gaining an average of almost 5lbs a week since we brought him home. i feed him eukanba? spiced up with salmon and or beef for extra protien and make sure all his treats are at least 60% protien min. he is still the most chllled dog, he will lay around with me all day and sleep or go outside and run crazy with the kids, he is only hyper when provoked to be. his training is going so good but i dont know if its the dog or the trainer... ahem--me. he know all the basics plus some extra, sit, lay, crawl, roll over, kiss, shake, spin, speak, potty trained to a bell on the back door, plays fetch, and will not chase after anyone or anything running through the hood. we have rabbits, other dogs, deer, and people always walking and running but all he does is sit and look at me for approval. i really am blown away at his demeanor after all the horror stories i have heard and read about boxers being spazmatic.

with out APBT/Amstaff, we change up her food every other month or so, so she doesn't develop food allergies, since they tend to develop them. So far so good though...as far as the horror stories go, I am sure you can get those for about every breed. But IMO, every dog is an individual with their individual temperaments and they don't always necessarily fit the examples of other dogs of the same breed.

yeah colton but at 17 weeks titan weighs 4lbs less than 11 month dodge and is almost as tall. when he is full grown i guess im going to have to turn him loose on some livestock or something so he can eat

You should try their Diamond Naturals line of food...no fillers so there is no corn, no wheat...it is a little more than what your feeding now, but you will actually feed less, based on the quality of the food. With brands like Pedigree and Purina, you actually feed more due to there being fillers and byproducts on the food.

Scary thing is most of the time you dont notice it until someone else says something. Our big ol lab looked small to us for a while until we brought him down to our local dog park. He was running around with a bunch of other labs and one of the oweners asked how old he was, we told them 6months and they looked shocked as theirs was 3yrs old and ours was a full head taller and bigger than it.

with my first two huskies they where on puppy formula till they where about a year. My third one for 6 months and my last puppy for just over 3 months. Now my last puppy has grow faster than any of my other ones. She is still only a year old and is bigger than any of my other ones. you can put in on regular dog food and he will be fine.

At least 40 lbs lasts a month i go through 40lbs a week and thats just dry.

Actually when I was raising pit bulls I use calf starter from the feed and seed store along with puppy food.

I wasn't that into dogs until we got our kids Daisy...she is the first purebred dog I have even owned and the first dog I ever PAID for...right after we got her I made it a point to surround myself with people who know the American Pitbull terrier/Amstaff Breeds well...so I could prepare myself for anything that could happen to her.

Knock on wood, we have only had to get her to a vet once for a grass allergy side affect...other than that, its just been shots and having her spayed.


I will say this Colton, I am not saying your Boxer will do well on this food, just saying it is a better quality than what you're feeding. I believe that every dog is an individual and what makes your dog thrive, might not be what makes my dog thrive...I have seen APBT's do well on a certain brand food, but then give another APBT the identical food and it not thrive at all...


If I could afford it, I would feed the best dog doet known to man, RAW, but man that is too damn pricey.

I have had my boy Henry for about 3.5 years now, and I have had him on Benefull Healthy Weight the whole time. Its cheap stuff I know but it works good for my dogs. I got Henry and he weighed 68lbs the first time I took him to the Vet to make sure his shot were up to date. Every time I have taken him back for Check-ups and the Good ol Basset Hound Ear Infections he has been between 68-71lbs, probably based on whether or not he has pooped before I take him in.

Now as far as I am told, Henry is a Pure Basset, and AKC says 55-65lbs for him, so he pretty close. Since I never have had a problem I keep him on what he is use to.

She really likes Bully Sticks...we get them at our local feed store...if you dont know what they are well, they are smoked bull penises...they are an excellent source of protein.

LOL....it's nothing like that...they are 100% digestible, unlike rawhide and pigs ears...both rawhide and pigs ears commonly cause intestinal blockages. Bully sticks will NOT cause those...they are like 100% protein...
