Hey greg, you have any interior shots?

Kevin, actually only of the mods I have done inside of the Granatelli Dual Window Switch, PSC1-003 and the the AeroForce Gauge.

The window switch I mounted on the end of the dash on a panel that pops off. This way I can hold the panel in my hand and adjust the switch from the drivers seat.
http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/2135/imag0033au.jpg (http://img818.imageshack.us/i/imag0033au.jpg/)

The PSC1 I wanted to be able to plug my laptop into and make adjustment from the inside while driving. The passenger kick panel is pretty much the standard location for the unit.
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/494/1001939p.jpg (http://img26.imageshack.us/i/1001939p.jpg/)

AeroForce gauge is mounted in a SRT pillar, again pretty much the standard setup. I use both of the anolog inputs, one for the wideband and the other for transmission Line Pressure. The small green light indicates when the eFan is running.

Jason, excellent time my friend....
I have a few parts on the table ready to be installed. 6.1 springs, camshaft and linelok. I have the AeroForce leds setup to flash at 6200 rpm, but want to install an stand alone shiftlight. All the wiring is already at the pillar just need to select which light to use. And on the wish list is a floor shifter to over come some of the 03's reluctance to do it on it's own and some light 17's to up the fun factor. This is RED's best time before the recent mods.

Jay, Red is indeed a lot of fun to drive. There are a few mods that I absolutely stand behind as a must have. If lowered the Aeon spring bump stops to a great job. If your a 03 and have a cam, then the high idle mod. And of course something to open the intake and exhaust. I am shocked at how small the OEM headers are.

Here you can see my exhaust just peeking down behind the roll pan. Also you can see how I narrowed the opening between the tailgate and roll pan. To make it any closer I would of had to relocate the hinges to change the geometry of the gate swinging open.

Stiff competition this month, good luck to us all. Here's some info and pics on 'Big Girl'.

I bought her in November 2008, used with around 10k miles on it. She has only 25k miles on her now. Modding has been a slow process, but she's getting there. I love the truck, and considering she is a diesel with only 25k miles, I shouldn't have to ever buy another vehicle, barring any catastrophic mechanical failures or physical damage (knock on wood).

Mod List:

Exterior:
18" Diamo 8-karat black/machined wheels
35" Nitto Terra Grapplers
2" Hell Bent Steel level
Bushwhacker pocket style flares
Line-X'd bed
S/S DP toolbox and bed/tailgate protectors
Reese 16k 5th wheel hitch
Tinted (matched front to back)
De-badged (minus a couple)

Interior:
iPod interface
Prodigy brake controller

Performance:
Banks Ram-air intake
4" Exhaust

Mods going in next week/weekend:
Bilstein 5100 shocks (in my possession)
TopGunCustomz Dual steering stabilizers w/Bilstein 5100's (arriving Tuesday)
TopGunCustomz 1" lift blocks for rear (arriving Tuesday)

Future mods (some definite, some still debating):
Custom retro'd headlights (6k projector headlights, halos, color-matched bezel/housing)
6kfog light upgrade
Custom tail-lights and 3rd brake light
Complete stereo upgrade with double din HU (yes, a quadrophonic blaupunkt)
Custom badges
Nathan K3 or K5 train horns
On-board air system
Diff covers (front and rear)
De-spear doors
Banks intake tube
Programmer (most likely a Smarty)
Gauges (factory matched on a-pillar)

Here's some pics:

As folks generally can tell by looking at Red I like a little of the old school mixed with new. Shaving the antenna, grille and tailgate. The tailgate was a straightup deal ie reverse the handle and weld a plate to fill the hole. But the problem is to get an area that large to be contoured with the rest of the tailgate.
It took two body shops to get it the way I like it.

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1668/dsc00424web.jpg (http://img204.imageshack.us/i/dsc00424web.jpg/)

The antenna was easier as a piece of metal was pulled into place from the bottom and then welded. For the radio to work I installed a powered signal amplifier under the dash.

http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/2076/dsc0629n.jpg (http://img862.imageshack.us/i/dsc0629n.jpg/)

The grille is still being worked on with 2011 cross being sectioned into a spare 03 shell. Here it is with just a shaved emblem and billet grille inserts.

http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/9780/dsc0618o.jpg (http://img163.imageshack.us/i/dsc0618o.jpg/)

I really enjoy making the old girl a little different, mostly in just details but I hope it has an effect on her overall appearance.

Thanks for the support.

Thanks Adam. It does need a light coat for protection purposes, or a cover, which are available. But actually, for towing I don't use grease. I have a plate that slips over the kingpin on the RV. It doesn't require grease, and it works pretty good.

Kevin, Trucks are like porn, there are only so many ways you can take a picture. Beside this makes it easy for folks not to have to go through all the pages to to see Red. And I'm trying to cover the fact I got Red sitting high on jack stands waiting for the cats to come in. I didn't expect to get nominated and was basically unprepared for a layout of pictures. I got held up with changing cats at the last minute and the grille isn't back from the shop. Red is covered in pollen and that's all the excuses I have at the moment... Here are a couple pictures to checkout while we wait this out...

Kevin, there are a lot things that are better because they are smooth, horses noses, puppy tummys, silk sheets, and the finer things in life which we all love, which also includes 49 mercury's and lowered Ram's.

Working and driving Red has been one of the most enjoyable vehicles I have had. The challenge of getting a certain small detail just right takes time and often more than one attempt. But when it finally works the way you have planned, it is almost like a physical "pop". Not being a real electrical guy and recently installing the PSC1 (piggyback tuner) and the window switch/high idle mod after battling a PCM clitch with the dealer, SC and Diablo for a year was one of those moments. Finally, everything came together. Very gratifying. Redtruck has a few inovated features, The window switch/high idle mod is one of them, another is the use of Aeon rubber springs as bump stops on lowered vehicles. And of course the old girl continues to be a test bed for developing definitive answers about problems associated with being a 03. An example is that 03's PCM are "plug and play" units and can be easily swapped without reflashing VIN/mileage. Not counting Red has the ability to monitior transmission line pressure under actual driving conditions. We have a great forum that will continue to grow and be the source of information supporting our unique rides.
Thank you for your continuing support.

Here is the dual window switch. As the name states it is actually two switches that can be individually adjusted and it is also a tach source for those who want to drive a shiftlight. I use one window for my high idle mod and the second would be good for spray.

Well, that certainly was exciting.... Don't know if there is a rule for this or not. But thanks for all who supported Red and those who support SEM.

Yes, it was exciting Greg. It was an honor to run with two awesome trucks and honorable gentlemen. Jason, sorry your circumstances wouldn't allow you to play a bigger role but family first, I always say. Thanks to everyone that supported Big Girl, and to everyone who participated.

Greg...you win! Congratulations! Rule #12 states in the event of a tie, the member with the most posts wins. You have around 310 posts, and I have around 250.

Congrats again.

That was a great run you two guys had. Sorry I couldn't be more active during the race but other things came up. Whichever one of you ends up being the winner you definitely deserve it. Good job guys.

Lee, Thank you, I didn't realize there was a rule for a tie. I had something clever like a coin flip or who could spit further. Big Girl is an awesome truck that I highly amire as it is as beautiful as it is functional.
Very much appreciate the support from the forum. I hope we can continue to grow and be the source for social interaction and technical solutions.

Thanks,

Me too! LOL. This is the 3rd OTM I've been in with Big Girl (this forum and others) and been beat by lowered trucks twice at least. This month with Greg, got SPANKED back in February by Caleb's (Shadow) '05, and I can't remember for sure about the other one, it was June of 2010, I think.

But, all the trucks that won the competitions I've been in were certainly awesome trucks and it was great fun and an honor to run with them.

Big Girl is getting there one step at a time, just yesterday with the new goodies she got...another step closer.

Congrats again, Greg.

Lee,
It might of been june(?) 2010 that Redtruck was the first lowered truck to be picked TOTM on DF. But I don't really remember, anyway I find it a little strange the big trucks complaining about our lowered trucks as it is so often all big trucks. But the truth is the lower truck have a good deal of performance that is used daily on the street. Were a lifted truck seldom actually uses what they have been built for and end up paying the penalty daily as they go about their duties on the street. And I'll be honest it is this lifted truck's attitude toward the lowered crowd that has caused me to move from one forum to another in the past. We have a good forum here and I hope we can make it bigger and stronger with all the great rides that are represented here. Not just counting trucks but all the rides. Lee your Big Girl is simply awesome and Jason yours is beatiful with a lot of glamour. Thanks for all the support everyone.

Greg, don't get me wrong...I'm not complaining at all and hold no animosity toward lowered trucks. And I certainly neither have the lifted truck attitude toward the lowered trucks nor do I like it, not at all. I love all types of vehicles...big, little, lifted, lowered, 2 wheels, 4 wheels, red, white and blue.

And you are exactly right....the third lowered truck I referenced losing to was you/Red in June 2010 on DF. Haha - that's kinda funny...you have beaten me twice. And again, I don't mean that in a bad way at all, not in the least. As I have said, your truck is awesome and well-deserving, and you have put a lot of time in her. And I, as a car/truck admirer, appreciate that very much.

You and I are good Greg, I just want to make sure you know where I stand.

Lifted Trucks, Lowered Truck, Old Truck, New Truck it doesnt matter.....as long as its what you like...

Ask Jay, I will admit, there are a few trucks that have been lowered and I have actually liked them, but you will never sell me on the idea of a truck coming closer to the ground....

IMO, trucks go up....I have a lightly lifted truck...because its what I like....and like it or leave it, its still mine....

No one was "complaining" in any aspect....Lee was just agreeing with me...wasnt complaining...

There is no need to think that any of that was meant in any regard of disrespect...we are all a family here....

With that said, Congrats to Greg.

Lee, it was a close one!!

Jason, it just want the right month...but you gotta do whats best for your family....and that right there makes you a winner!!!

Im glad to see these OTM's drawing more attention....gonna take some time,. but we will eventually get to where we need to be!!!

I don't recall the dislike/hate toward the lowered trucks you and Greg speak of, but I don't think I was there as long as you two. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it wasn't happening, I just didn't know it. But, I certainly believe it could've happened because I left DF because of a couple people and their attitudes toward me and others.

Speaking of DF...does anyone remember Jon/Cwboyjohnny24? I noticed he hasn't been on here or RF since 9/30/10. I was just curious if anyone knew his whereabouts? I saw his truck picture on the scrolling banner today and was just wondering.

Greg, i know Kevin on a personal level now. And as much as he thinks trucks should be raised he has alot more respect for lowered trucks now than when i met him a yr ago. with that said even with being a mod he still has his right to be a lifted fan as I enjoy both, and I'm from a loooooong line of lowered yrs, everything runs smooth here and yall help alot. everyone lets keep it that way, we love all aspects of all mopars.....All of us.....
