I recieved a 2011 grille I ordered today, here is what I'm thinking, not that I have decided anything. But just kinda moving along to see if there is anything preventing me from grafting the cross section from the new grille into a 03 grille shell. I like the bold look of the new trucks but don't want to clone a 4g entire front. I'm thinking of slightly dropping the leading edge of the 03 grille with the 2011 cross section. Then paint the entire grille much like it is now. I'm looking for something subtle that doesn't standout but is slightly different in a good way. Inputs are appreciated.

Back when I was into the whole S10 world, the best looking front end conversions were when guys would put the trailblazer front ends on the 2nd gen S10's...I believe with the right skills and tools and of course cash, nothing can prevent anybody from doing anything...

I don't know where this guy hangs out but the description of his conversion/build is out there somewhere. This if I remember right wasn't just a conversion, but a lot of details were also modified. Absolutely beautiful truck.

I remember seeing and reading about that truck and its conversion. If I remember correctly it was a ton of work and money. But it does look awesome.

Ahh, but the guy has a passion and we all know money and work doesn't keep us doing what we do.

The cross on the 2011 grille is larger than the 03 grille so it can be cut to fit. I have a spare 03 grille so the project continues. I'll shave the emblem at the top of the 03 grille, but I intend to keep the large emblem in the middle.

This is crazy rough but is this what you want to end up with?

The only problem I see is that the 4th gen grilles slant back towards the truck down at the bottom, so itll be tricky there

Yes, that's the look I'm going for. Thanks for the chop. I don't intend to change the angle, just the cross section and refine the leading edge a little.

Thanks,
