Got it last night and installed this morning. Thanks goes to Patrick (RamSport97) for the deal and quick as hell shipping. It looks brand new. Not a single scratch anywhere. Thanks man!
Install was a breeze and now I won't have to screw with the factory air box clamp than anyone with a 2nd gen knows and hates. And now for the pics

Out with the old

And in with the new

I love it so far. Seems like the engine breathes a little better and I got rid of that annoying sucking sound coming form my factory set-up. Plus, I've got something to look at under my hood :D

Thanks guys. Finally got a chance to put a few miles on her today. Seems to pull a little stronger with a decent load on the back and now it'll break the back tires loose from a stop like it used to :D

:pedobear:whats your mpgs like with that thing?

When I had it I recorded a highway mileage of 22.7 between Homestead, FL and Key West. That was 130+ miles at 55mph. Long trips at 70mph I record around 19.5-20 mpg. Around town I get 15.5-17mpg. Mine is also a RC/SB 2wd with a 318 though.

It has gotten so that a CAI is a mandatory mod. They don't make a hugh difference alone, but makes for a great supporting mod. Well done..

The only way I see a body lift being an issue is the way the filter housing is mounted. It's attached with two jack nuts into the inner fender. With a big enough body lift, it could angle the intake tube enough to prevent it from making a good seal at the throttle body

do you think if i used a airfilter spacer like im using for my 14x3 would help?

i think its a 1/2" anyway you can raise up yours 3" to see how well it sits on the TB, and take a pic?

i dont wanna spend $210 and find out i cant use it at all

How much of a body lift do you have?

Have one on my 5.9 CTD. Works good for me.

^ Smitty, did your S & B give you more turbo whistle and air whooshing sounds?

Is it an open bottom or does it come with a down tube for air intake?

Is this a brand Rich @ Doghouse recommends as one of his favorites?

No, on the whistle. You could hear the turbo more, or air or combination of both. Not loud enough to be obnoxious. I do not even notice it anymore.

It is open bottom. I can't remember if there was a bottom scoop for mine or not.

Yes, Rich recommended. Suppose to be the best at cleaning air. Think it may also do with how much horsepower or future mods you want.

Oh those sounds are not obnoxious to me....I rarely even think to turn my radio on 'cause I'm listening to them. LOL

My Banks is open bottom too. You can buy and add a super scoop for it. Just wondering if the S & B can with a scoop or not.

Did you buy from Rich?

I'm asking because I want an elbow and for the month of August, S & B is running a rebate when you buy an intake and elbow together. Thoroughbred sells the pair for $549, the rebate is $39. I know a lot of people are high on S & B and not so much on Banks.

I'm just not sure it's worth paying the money for the S & B set versus selling my Banks versus buying a Banks elbow.

I know that certain models/years had the scoop. Can't remember if mine did or not. Would most likely say no or I would have bought one. If you find out different let me know.

Yes, bought from Rich.

I have asked Rich/and others about the elbow and was told waste of money. UNLESS, you are looking at getting into the over 500hp range.

Looking at the S&B website, seems they have changed the intake for my truck. I can update to the latest model and get the scoop...ummmh

Need to double check what model I have on the truck now!

I do like S & B's upgrade/update program. That's a great perk for customers.
